Michael Jackson

Death House SOLD!!!

.... Almost

10/26/2012 4:30 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The house where Michael Jackson died is in escrow and about to close ... TMZ has learned ... and the buyer was so anxious, he's moving in weeks before escrow is scheduled to close.

The buyer is Steven Mayer, a super-rich investment banker.

Our sources say the purchase price was somewhere between $17 and $20 mil -- it was listed for nearly $24 mil.

And this is interesting ... for some reason the seller is letting Mayer move in before escrow closes  -- something real estate honchos think is high risk.

1026_celebrity_photos_carolwoodMauricio Umansky at The Agency represented Mayer and the seller of the home. We reached out to him, but haven't heard back.

At any rate, Mayer loves the crib a lot. We hope he has better luck than Michael.

I don't care who died there, I would live there in a second. Heck, even the poolhouse looks nice.

The house was purchased for a lot less than the listed price, because Corey Feldman stayed overnight there once.

Jerry in Dallas

He will be just fine so long as he doesn't hire a personal physician who is an arrogant, incompetent schmuck like Conrad Murray!!! MJ could afford the best and unfortunately I think he chose someone who saw himself as a celebrity because of his patient's celebrity. I once worked in a luxury hotel and a group of very wealthy Saudi Arabians checked in along with their security man. The SOB was a drunk who would drink alone in his room until he passed out. He put portable close-captioned cameras in the hallways leading to the elevators to the took guests to the Presidential Suite but he did such a lousy job that you could see all the wires, cables and even the cameras. He treated everyone at the hotel shabbily, acting as if he were somebody. The fact was that he was a Eurotrash drunkard. I hope Murray rots in Hell for what he did to MJ. I think I could have forgiven him if he had shown some remorse but the jerk still thinks to this day that he didn't do anything wrong. It is so sad to see wealthy people and celebrities surround themselves with "yes men" who tell them what they want to hear rather than tell them the straight and honest truth that they deserve.

Agreed. Letting someone move in before the house closes is an ENORMOUS risk. Just because the guy is rich doesn't mean he can't cause trouble if the deal falls through. Heck, given his resources he can cause even more trouble than the average person through his lawyers if he wants.

He's checking if it's haunted by Michael before closing.

Thriller will probably always hold the record for number of copies sold. The only artist who may produce an album that will sell more would be Taylor Hicks.
