Check Out My Post-Crash

The guy who played 90s smartass Parker Lewis wasn't lying when he said he shattered his leg in a boating accident -- TMZ has obtained a photo of his reassembled mass of leg flesh ... and it's GNARLY.

As we reported, 41-year-old Corin Nemec was involved in a near-death accident in Belize last month that left his femur broken in three places. Nemec was riding on a Coast Guard vessel -- on his way to the set of his new movie "Poseidon Rex" -- when it crashed into a semi-submerged barge and sent him flying.

Nemec says he lost over half the blood in his body -- and required several transfusions to save his life.

But now, Parker Lewis is finally facing a problem he can't fix -- Nemec tells TMZ, the insurance company that's supposed to pay his medical bills is threatening to cut him off ... if he doesn't sign a scary contract.

According to Nemec, the insurance company wants him to sign an agreement that releases both the insurance company AND the production company from liability stemming from the accident ... aka Nemec can't sue either of them for a massive settlement. If he doesn't sign, it's bye-bye hospital money.

So now Nemec's got a choice -- take the insurance money to pay his medical bills ... or try his luck in court in order to win even MORE money.

We're told Nemec's still sweating the decision -- and is currently exploring his legal options. Tick tock. A rep for the insurance company tells us, "We do not discuss matters relating to insured’s claims."

DON’T SIGN IT! I think he should hire a really good lawyer and take time to recover before he signs anything or sues anyone. The hospital isn’t going to boot him out.

Every insurance policy is different, but surely they would pay out more than the hospital bills in this case? The guy almost died, and by the looks of it, he may be disabled. He should get a lump sum for pain and suffering, as well as loss of future earnings.

Take care and get well soon Corin!

Neihter the insurance company nor the production company were responsible in any way for this accident so I don't blame them for wanting him to sign something promising he wouldn't sue.

How about a "click here for graphic image" I don't want to see people's medical procedures. This is not entertainment, which is why people visit this site. YUCK!

sloppy, slopppy "journalism". That's not a leg, that is an arm. You can tell by looking at the objects in the background and the angle that the elbow is bent, a knee wouldn't bend that way or have that shape. I see a dressing gown and bicep above the elbow and a pillow next to it resting on his chest. Nice article and way to go with the fact checking. Is it too cold for you children out in LA that your little brains are frozen and you can't think?

Hang tight against the insurance weasels. The hosp will get paid down the line, but Nemec will be wise to wait. They'll try to make it seem like his fault. Fight the creeps.

That stinks. I thought that is why they had insurance in the first place.

Why is there no ice on that recovering arm to assist in reducing pain and swelling? Thats a serious injury and surgery.

Why didn't he have his own insurance with something like SAG? A lot of people pay for their own insurance.

Don't sign it. This is a dirty trick insurance companies play. Deny for a year. They'll pay, you just have to hold out for what's right. Screw the bastards. They entered a contract with you and the production company. They can't force you to sign another agreement to get something for which they ALREADY AGREED TO COVER. Hold out, and fight the good fight. They know you have a case, which is why they are pulling this crap. Let the insurance company and the hospital deal with it. You just worry about healing.
