'California Chrome' Jockey

That Horse 'Is As Good as Secretariat'

California Chrome is "one of the best horses ever" ... and is "just as good as [Secretariat] ... this according to CC's jockey Victor Espinoza

The legendary jockey was out in NYC yesterday when we asked how Cali Chrome ranks in the pantheon of great racehorses ... and Vic says if it weren't for the hoof injury suffered in the Belmont Stakes, Chrome would be at the top of the list.

"I believe he's as good as [Secretariat] ... but when something goes wrong, then it can't go 100%."

BTW, Victor is AWESOME -- and after the Chrome talk, gave us some pretty interesting tips on how to properly bet the ponies.

Turns out, betting on the horse that took the biggest leak before the race isn't the way to go.

Go figure.

So all those horses that won the triple crown with all that money at stake, all the betters money, the records on the line...they just were waved on huh? Check this link out. Of course they tested for drugs back then. 1 was even DQ'd for it. I'm saying bye bye now...this convo is too silly to continue. http://www.foxnews.com/story/2008/05/03/drug-scandal-robbed-dancer-image-168-kentucky-derby-title/

So with all that purse $, & all the betters $, & all the records on the line..those TC winners were just waved thru & wasn't under the scrutiny of the racing commissions drug testers? what nonsense. Here's a link from Sports Illustrated. 1 was DQ'd in 68. If some unscrupulous trainer wants to try to cheat they could, but looks like they'd be busted. Click this link. E Secretariat was an amazing horse, but he even lost a few when he was not feeling well. California Chrome kept on running even after all that hoof injury and blood from leg injury. He was never asked for his best in the first two races, either so we wont really know until he heals from this and is asked for his best just to shut up all you haters out there. He ran with heart...100% and did not whine or complain even though that injury would stop all you cry babies in your tracks if you were a horse!!! And as far as records http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/records-1/fastest-speed-for-a-race-horse/ ..nobody talks about this filly's mile and a half record!! I hope C.C comes back strong and sets a record...then what will you have to say???

Is it because the filly ran on a California track that she is not worthy of recognition?? Is it because she is a filly??? Who knows, but i guess youregonna say that guiness lies, too,...lmao!!! Victor has only raced x many horses in his career, but what does he know?? More than you and i combined!!! I would rather him lose a race to save this horses career and future than put him in even more danger. It is clear that the stuck ups cant let a good thing happen, and th. ignorant talk out of their a** and theircomments show because they stay stuck in the past and can only talk about a few horses and a few records!! The more research you do; the more you will realize all the many great horses around the world and the many records. C. Chrome never had the opportunity to be released fully to show the world what he was made of. I hope he comes back stronger than ever. By the way, he is a direct descendent of Secretariat and is related not only from his sire's side, but also his dam's side. I doubt Secretariat would want you all to trash talk his lineage like that!!!
