His purpose for the company is to create an entertainment corporation that addresses every and any area of entertainment, and he is developing other wings of the business to meet those needs. Rotwang Films actually takes it name from the mad scientist Rotwang from the classic film "Metropolis."His first film, "I Am from Nowhere: The People History Ignored," was made because it allowed him to finally get into filmmaking. It was the first thing he ever shot, edited, etc. While he didn't necessarily want to get into documentary filmmaking, it was a catalyst that taught Jonathan how to work at quick speeds and on a tight budget. At the one film festival it played at, it was very warmly received in the Deseret News, Utah's largest newspaper, but Jonathan chose to shelve it because he felt that the film was not up to the standard that the story of the film's subject, the Lemkos, deserved. The re-cut and definitive version of the film will be released in 2012.His horror short film "An Evening with My Comatose Mother," has won 54 awards internationally as of November 2011 and has been well received by both critics and audience from around the world, and it is the film that proved to be the launching pad for his career. He won multiple awards for directing, producing, editing, set design (production design), and was nominated for writing as well. What he is most proud about is the fact that his three stars from the film (Wendy Macy, Michele Wilson, and Missy HIll) all won acting awards as well, for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress respectively. The film is being developed for a feature. See full bio on IMDb »
