How Hollywood Disciplines Its Children
This is a silly story, but it's so Hollywood that I love it.
I went to dinner last night with a big Hollywood type -- He loves TMZ and checks out what's new regularly at the office.
So we started talking about -- what else -- Hollywood gossip. And then we started talking about our lives and he told me a great story. By the way, he insisted that I not use his name so don't even ask.
He has a big ol' house in Calabasas, California, a beautiful suburb near the city of L.A. From what he said, I'm guessing the house is 6,000 square feet. He called it a "stupid" house with way too much space for himself, his wife and 4 year old daughter. Most of the rooms don't have furniture. But he did install a pretty sweet media room.
So here's the story. He told me when his daughter (we'll call her Jane Doe) does something bad, they give her a time out. But I guess in Hollywood, a time out is not standing in a corner. He gives her a stern look and says "Jane, go to the theater, now!" Geez, that oughta teach the kid a lesson she won't forget.
