Lampoon May Be Evicted From Its Animal House
Under the category of tough times, the National Lampoon may be getting evicted from its digs for nonpayment of rent.
The landlord for the West Hollywood headquarters of the National Lampoon -- home of the magazine since 1971 as well as numerous movies, including "Animal House" and "Vacation," -- claims in legal papers its owes back rent totaling $39,246. The monthly nut is $10,844.
Tim Durham, President of the Lampoon, tells us, "It's no secret the Lampoon has been struggling for the last several months." Durham says he expects the back rent will be paid.
