Boxer Jermain Taylor Pleads Not Guilty to Shooting His Cousin
Jermain Taylor plans to put up a fight in court ... he pled not guilty Monday afternoon in Little Rock on charges he shot his cousin.
The 36-year-old fighter is facing charges of first-degree battery and first-degree terroristic threatening stemming from the August 26 incident. Taylor can be heard on the 911 call made that day, telling police, "Better come get him before I kill him."
Taylor didn't say anything during his brief hearing -- his lawyer did all the talking -- and a June 23 trial date was set. According to local reports, the date was picked because Taylor will be training in March and April for a fight.
A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for May 29.
