Amber Heard -- Charged With Dog Smuggling in Australia
Amber Heard Charged With Dog Smuggling in Australia
The Australians just won't let this case go ... now Amber Heard has been charged with illegally bringing two dogs into the country earlier this year.
It seemed Johnny Depp and his wife were off the hook when the pups high-tailed it back to the States in May, but now the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions has charged Heard (who apparently is technically the owner of the pups) with the illegal importing of animals, namely two Yorkshire Terriers named Boo and Pistol.
The maximum penalty is 10 years behind bars and/or a fine of $102,000.
Under Australian law, dogs brought into the country must be quarantined for 10 days to avoid spreading disease.
Heard has also been charged with "producing a false or misleading document, namely an incoming passenger card" ... which carries a one-year maximum sentence and and a $10,200 fine.
She is due to appear in Australian court on September 7.
