Count heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder as one of the many fans of new Canadian PM Justin Trudeau ... saying that his brawling skills might be enough to scare the world's biggest bully ... Vladimir Putin.

Wilder was out in L.A. when we got his expert opinion on Trudeau's brand of fisticuffs ... namely the 2012 charity boxing match that had to be stopped cause Justin was kicking so much ass.

Of course we had to ask him how the new leader in the north stacks up to Putin ... who continuously shows his athletic prowess in videos that are in no way staged because he rules his country with an iron fist.

Wilder's take? Trudeau can brawl ... and Putin better watch out.
