NASA Shares Photos of Earth From Artemis II Rocket
NASA Check Out the Big Blue Marble!!!
NASA doesn't have the whole world on a string ... but they've got it all in a pic, which the astronauts on Artemis II snapped.
The new pics capture our home in all its blue and brown glory from the window of the space capsule ... with the sun's glow hitting the side of the planet.
NASA says the snaps capture everyone on the planet looking back up at the Artemis II astronauts and cheering the mission on ... despite the s****y start it got off to.
Remember ... the astronauts immediately ran into issues when the craft's toilet stopped working. Thankfully, newly christened Space Plumber Christina Koch was able to fix the issue before anyone christened the latrine.
BTW ... the Artemis II crew follows in the footsteps of some pretty incredible astronauts -- including the Apollo 17 crew, which took a similar photograph way back in 1972. Seems the Earth's dimmed a little bit over the last 54 years, but still impressive nonetheless.
The Artemis II crew will return to Earth on April 11 ... after traveling around the far side of the moon.
Hopefully, they can get a few more amazing shots before they touch down ... it certainly beats bathroom woes, after all!
