Nicole's Ring of Truth

Published

TMZ staffers spotted Nicole Kidman this afternoon in the casino at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, sporting what appeared to be an enormous engagement ring.

The former Mrs. Cruise sat alone at the blackjack table as she played out an impressive pile of chips, stacked almost a half-foot high. She was playing at a no-limit blackjack table. Her chips ranged between $25 and $500 each.

Nicole has been linked romatically to country crooner Keith Urban -- who is also in Vegas for the Radio Music Awards tomorrow night.

The people in the casino definitely noticed Nicole but left her alone. There were two other players at Nicole's table. They had friendly interaction as they gambled away.

As if she needs the extra bucks, Nicole appeared to be winning, possibly winning big. Indeed, she had a winning smile on her face as the dealer drew the cards.

Nicole was dressed casually, wearing jeans and a black sweater. It appeared she wore little, if any, make-up. TMZ staffers say she looked "amazing."

Dating Musical Chairs

What's going on with young Hollywood? Do they all date the same 12 people? And why are some of them getting engaged so quickly, when everyone knows that the relationship will probably end in a nasty breakup? The '80s Brat Pack has nothing on today's young hormone horde, whose love lives are starting to look like a game of musical beds, er... chairs.

After ending her brief engagement to Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis, Paris Hilton took up with another Greek shipping heir, Stavros Niarchos, shortly after Niarchos broke up with Mary-Kate Olsen. Meanwhile, Avril Lavigne is engaged to Hilton's ex-boyfriend, Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley.

Lindsay Lohan was hot and heavy with Wilmer Valderrama for several months last year. After their breakup, he was romantically linked to Ashlee Simpson. Simpson's ex-boyfriend, Ryan Cabrera, was spotted canoodling with Kimberly Stewart in October, although Cabrera insisted to the press that he and Stewart were just friends. Stewart had apparently taken up with Cabrera after dumping her fiance, 'Girls Gone Wild' mogul Joe Francis, who also used to date Hilton.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood Tie the Knot

Published

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood said "I do" on Saturday in a private ceremony at their Oklahoma home.

Brooks, an Oklahoma native, and Yearwood exchanged vows before family members, said Nancy Seltzer, a publicist for the couple.

"They said it is the perfect Christmas gift to each other and they couldn't be happier," Seltzer said. She declined to provide any other details.

Brooks, 43, got down on one knee and proposed to Yearwood, 41, in May in front of 7,000 fans at the "Legends in Bronze" event at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, Calif. Ten larger-than-life bronze statues honoring country stars were unveiled during that event, including one of Brooks.

The marriage is the second for Brooks, who has three children, and the third for Yearwood.

Brooks is credited with widening the genre's appeal in the 1990s by merging traditional country with honky tonk, pop, folk and rock. His "Ropin' the Wind" album was the first such country recording to debut at the top of the pop music charts. His latest album, "Scarecrow," went triple platinum.

Yearwood was named the Country Music Awards female vocalist of the year in 1997 and 1998. Her latest album is "Jasper County."
