The "Lady" and Her Director

M. Night ShyamalanM. Night Shyamalan is back in theaters with his latest fright flick, "The Lady in the Water."

Shyamalan sat down with his leading lady, Bryce Dallas Howard, for an interview as part of AOL Moviefone's Unscripted feature series. The pair, who worked together previously on "The Village," asked each other questions submitted by AOL users.

When one user asked Night how he makes such scary movies -- but doesn't actually show a lot of violence -- he said,
"I just find it stays with you more if the audience is interacting more... The less you show, the more they have to participate and then they take that home with them."

Check out the full interview on Moviefone, and "The Lady in the Water" when it hits theaters this Friday.

1. Interesting, I wonder if anyone knows how many of us have loser movie ideas out here but can't come up with a decent name like M. Night Shyamalan.

3. It is getting terrible reviews, but since it is a summer movie, people will go. I do like his movies, though. They are fun!!

4. M. Night Shyamalan's movies are not scary. I guess people are just a lot easier to scare these days. His movies are interesting, colorful and way over-produced but scary? Not.

6. He looks like he has a jheri curl in this picture. I thought it was a picture of thriller-era Michael Jackson at first.

7. Despite the reviews I wanted to see the movie. Saw it last night and I LOVED IT! And yes, I flinched and was scared more than a few times (~my poor boyfriend's arm). M. Night just has you held there the entire time, entire time of the movie with the storyline. It was really great. I'm from PA and am a loyal fan of M. Night.

9. I saw this movie the first night it opened and I loved every minute of it. M Knight is such a good actor and his character is so believable. I want to see this again before I buy the DVD.
M Knight always surprises and never disappoints when he makes a movie.
