As TMZ told you last month, Justin Timberlake's first major big screen role was in the straight-to-video release "Edison Force." Despite starring Oscar winners Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey, the film was a "parade of cliches" according to Variety and "a star-studded dud of a B-picture" according to the Hollywood Reporter.
But TMZ couldn't just take their word for it -- we had to rent it for ourselves. Check out this clip from the bonus features on the disc -- in it Justin explains how he prepared for the role. Theoretically it didn't really matter what he did, since only like 12 people will actually see the film.
Justin is at it again in the movie "Alpha Dog," which opens January 2007 and his second solo album, "FutureSex/LoveSounds," hits stores September 12.

Morgan Freeman is like damn who put in this movie with this little bitch?
I saw the movie.....i was actually suprised at how good he was! *lol* i thought that it WOULD be a disaster but i liked it! Morgan Freeman helped a lot too. But like i said i saw it and really would have to disagree w/ this and say i liked it!!! I think he's a lot sexier dancing though then w/ a beat up face!! I will see his next movie though!!!
LMAO! Too bad his cd's couldn't have gone straight to the toilet!
I saw a leaked copy of this movie months ago and am not surprised at all that's it going straight to video. It was awful! Justin needs to stick to his pop and lock moves and stay away from the big screen. I can't believe Morgan and Clive signed up for this. Sad
Jt cannot sing or act and he is taking blows at American Idol ? Maybe he should look in the mirror can boy cannot dress either

I saw the movie and it actually was worth watching. I don't really understand why it went straight to video after seeing it. (I'm not a big Justin fan by the way.)
I saw this film, and I thought it was pretty good. Maybe it wasn't worthy of an award..but it wasn't so bad it should go straight to video!
I think that is due to bad publicity, and lack of good publicity.
This is a good sign that his first movie "went straight to video." That's how all the "Great One's" started. Keep the faith Justin. I love you. Do what you feel in your heart, you deserve it....
For a first time gig at real acting, since the Mickey Mouse Club does not count, he didn't do too bad of a job. However, I don't see a future super multi talent on the rise.
he'll never make it in film because he has no presence. the camera also doesn't love him. he looks washed-out and has a weak and nasally speaking voice. not a dude but a dud.
Justin would do well if he took some acting lessons, as he wishes to become a movie star. I doubt that he'll ever develop into a acting talent but lots of 14 year old girls still want to see him do anything if he's half nekked and they appear willing to pay. I'm sure he'll find some limited success.
