Dixie Chicks To Bush: "You're a Dumb F**k"

9/12/2006 7:19 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

It's been more than three years since the Dixie Chicks sparked a media firestorm by announcing they were "ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas." Now, the embattled country stars are reigniting the blaze with a highly controversial documentary featuring lead singer Natalie Maines calling President Bush a "dumb f---."

According to Entertainment Weekly, one memorable scene from "Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing" shows the singers watching a news report on President Bush's reaction to their infamous on-stage comment. In the report, Bush says ''the Dixie Chicks are free to speak their mind,'' adding, ''they shouldn't have their feelings hurt just because some people don't want to buy their records when they speak out. You know, freedom is a two-way street.'' After watching this footage, Maines then repeats the president's comment and says, ''What a dumb f---.'' She then looks into the camera, as if addressing Bush himself, and reiterates, ''You're a dumb f---.''

The documentary, directed by two-time Academy Award-winning Barbara Kopple, travels with the Chicks, from their peak of popularity as the national anthem-singing darlings of country music and top-selling female recording artists of all time, through the now infamous anti-Bush comment, and on through the days, months and years of mayhem. The film is set to premiere tonight at the Toronto International Film Festival, where for some odd reason (possibly that our neighbors to the north aren't exactly fans of our nation's leader), it's expected to be a huge hit.

Otherwise you lose alot of your fan base...southerns...duh!!! I am not in PR but if I was I would be a genious.

WE ARE NOT AT WAR. It takes an act of CONGRESS to declare war. They never did it. We are at OCCUPATION. We are occupying a nation that Bush HIMSELF said had nothing to do with 9-11. Just this week Congress issued a report that said Saddam Hussein hated Osama and Al Queda as MUCH as we did. They were not in cahoots on 9-11. Bush is lying to you and trying to strip you of your rights so he and Cheney can continue to make money off this illegal occupation. Bush IS a dumbf*** and if you don't get it, well, that makes you...uh.....just like him.

This country needs MORE people like Natalie Maines. She's not afraid that other dumbf***s will stop buying her records because of what she says. To ME, THAT is a patriot.

this country was founded on an ideal of peace... however we can not respect other people's opinions. I agree with the dixie chick, bush has taken us down a road of terror and heart ache at the cost of thousands of american lives, not to mention the peole from iraq. It is amazing how we invaded irad so that there will be a place in the middle east that does not harbor terrorist, now because of the mastermind that is bush there is a whole provence in Iraq who's goverment is terrorst and the military can not gain control of. He was finsihing what his father couldn't and look what a mess he has made. he is a dumb F*CK and it would be unpatriotic of me not to say something. I think when his term is over (he needs to go work in iraq, see the conditions and he needs to stay the course, not tell the american people that we have forgotten 911. we are living the aftermaths of it, loved ones are lost on facts that have been proved to be fabricated. he has taken AMERICA downhill and for that he is a dumb f*ck. a big one

DCX are right! The Chicks speak the truth and their newest album is great! They are the best selling female group of all time (newest album has sold 2+ Million copies so far). They say what they mean and don't let the right-wing neocon nuts intimidate 'em. Go Chicks!

NATALIE: What qualifies you as being a non dumb-f***? Tell us again the advanced degree you garnered, or the learned profession you might lay claim to, or the exceptional skills you have ??? THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT!!! Because you toil the strings and blow sounds of ordinary is the stand alone reason that you should, quite simply, not pass judgement on issues FAR BEYOND your ability to intellectually grasp or debate. You are a publicity pig, a fraud of the worst kind and anti-American to boot. Your level of disrespect and in-your-face attitude towards the Office of the President confirms what most Americans think of you...trash!!! NOW GO ON AND SING AND DANCE FOR THE FOLK

Bush graduated from Yale because of his Daddy, he didn't serve in the war because of his Daddy and he is President because of his Daddy and Debold voting machines - nothing from his on effort. Wake-up People, The Chicks are right!

The first thing that comes to mind is that childhood phrase "what you say is what you are". I am a true believer of freedom of speech, but Natalie's delivery lacks intelligence, dignity or class. Noone wants to listen to her dirty mouth. If she is so unhappy with this country she should go somewhere else. I, for one, won't miss her. or the Dixie Chicks!

Fantastic these girls have the right to speak their minds, and unlike other people they have not spent the last years whining. They stand up for they believe in and I gladly applaud them for it, they don't care to speak out no matter what others may think.

It's that she is a celebrity and she can get everyone to hear her. I am on Cape Cod and I feel the same way she does but no one can hear me. Bush thinks he will make Iraq a democracy but he only wants the oil. Soldiers and civilians are dying because of this. They are savages and we cannot change them.

People are in worse situations in Africa starving, being murdered and raped and we are not there....... because there is no oil. President Bush.... shut the _____ up.
