Malcolm Made Me a Mogul

Justin BerfieldWe know him as Reese, the bullying dimwit older brother on Fox's "Malcolm in the Middle," but it seems Justin Berfield is no dummy. He's now on the fast track to become a Hollywood mogul.

The 21-year-old is stepping behind the camera to produce feature films and television projects through his own production company, J2TV/J2 Pictures. He's got two films slated, "Captain Trips: A Biography of Jerry Garcia," the first authorized biography of the legendary Grateful Dead guitarist, and the Jessica Simpson vehicle, "Blonde Ambition."

Berfield is also developing a challenge-based reality series featuring legendary NASCAR driver Richard Petty. Justin also owns ten residential and commercial properties in the Los Angeles area, including Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey's former home from MTV's "Newlyweds."

Not bad for 21.

He better stick to real estate or movies with better actors - that Jessica Simpson movie is going to tank. He better delay putting that baby out til she cleans up her career.

Gret Job kid! Stay clean, sober and away from the sluts and you should do fine!
I am happy to see someone young in hollywood has his act together. Paris, Brittany, Lindsey, Nicole ... take a lesson!

We, are not amused.:  1897 days ago

Good for this guy, I too am glad to see him and Frankie looking like they will be okay after "Malcolm". Far too often, sitcom stars seem to be stuck after the "fame train" drops them off.
"Captain Tripps..." I am SO there!

He is 20, not 21. Get your facts straight IMDB. Still not bad for a 20 year old.

It's good to see a child star growing up and doing something productive rather than becoming coked out and unemployed like most other child stars.

Let's just hope Justin Berfield doesn't wind up in the trash heap of Hollywood stars who become successful and then blow it on being around sleazy people and burning out at 30.

All I have to say is "What a cutie!" Just please don't follow in the misled steps of former child stars. Kid's got potential and looks. Still pretty unspoiled.

Keeping it Real:  1889 days ago

Poor Justin, you don't back a movie staring an overhyped, publicity whore like Jessica Simpson. It would have been a smarter move to produce a movie with the Cheetah Girls, or the Hight School High kids.At least that would make a profit.
