Tyson Faces Judge

Mike Tyson mugshotTMZ is all over this Mike Tyson bust in Scottsdale, Arizona. Tyson appeared before a judge just a few minutes ago in connection with his DUI arrest early this morning. Tyson was advised he will be charged with one count of narcotic drug possession, a felony.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that after he was stopped, the former fighter admitted to cops that he had been using illegal drugs over the last few days. Cops claim they found cocaine in his car and on his person.

Tyson was released today without bail. He must check in with a pre-trial service officer today. Under the terms of the release, he will be forced to take drug and alcohol tests.

Tyson was ordered not to possess any weapons or drink alcohol. He cannot take drugs without a prescription. The judge also ordered Tyson not to leave Arizona.

Celeb Mugshots: see photosCops say they stopped Iron Mike after he ran a stop sign and almost crashed into a sheriff's vehicle around 1:45 AM. The arresting officer was part of a special holiday DUI task force.

Police say Tyson was cooperative and acted like a gentleman at the time of the arrest.

This isn't Tyson's first brush in the law in Arizona. In 2004, the embattled boxer was arrested and charged with suspicion of criminal damage after cops say he left a nightclub and jumped on the hood of a stranger's car, causing about $1400 in damage.

#22. If you are referring to his drug problem...to hit rock bottom he may just need some time in the cooler. I have heard that addicts have really only three choices, sobered up, locked up or covered up! You don't bring someone with an ego of a fighter to the Betty Ford Clinic and serve them on the fine china. He only understands one thing, being knocked down!

released without bail? huh? how does that ever happen to anyone arrested for possesion of narcotics, who on top of the possesion also was arrested for DUI and is a prior felon?

I thought Arizona had tough judges? or is that only after the conviction, but before so they let you run wild through the state, to which the judge has demanded Mike doesnt leave....Glad I dont live in AZ while he awaits trial

UNFORTUNATLY THE COURTS ARE EXTREAMLY LENIENT AND THEN THERE ARE THE SLICK LAW FIRMS THAT REPRESENT DUI DRIVERS AND GET THESE DRUNKS BACK ON THE ROAD UNTIL THEY EVENTUALY KILL AN INNOCENT PERSON(S). I SAY PUT THEN IN JAIL AND THROW THE KEY AWAY THE FIRST TIME.

IT seems that Mike has taken a few to many shots to the head. Sure, jail time may be in order, but this man needs help. After years of punches and butts, ha has done damage to himself. A prison hospital would be in order for him. After they get his head straight, if thats even possible, then he should be held accountable for his actions. He could have killed someone driving while high.. Thank God he didnt get that chance. Mike Tyson is a human and should be afforded help. He is a lost soul that needs more than spiritual guidance..he has a medical and mental problem. Fix this guy so he is no longer a threat to himself, and more important, others!

If Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton & The Kennedy Senator guy can all be arrested for DUI over and over again and offer to go to rehab to dissolve the case, then the same should be offered to Mike Tyson... Or is it only because they are white can this kind of justice be sold. THINK ABOUT IT. Happy New Year & may the times change with the years.

I endorse the jail time and any efforts to reach a troubled soul. In this case you can't mix "Mike" in to the general population of those incarcerated. He or someone would be dead fairly quick. He would(will) be a marked target in prison for thugs wanting to earn a view points. So special arrangements will be required to seperate him from the general population. It would be difficult for a bail judge to offer him that kind of protection thus the immediate release. I would imagine that his long term incarceration will take much pre-planning and scheduling, to protect him from whats on the inside.

Mike Tyson does'n belong in prison, he's no differnt form the other Thousands of drug offenders that are jailed and wharehoused and cost (TAX PAYERS) us Millions of dollars each year to finiance the nation's prison system and it's broken correctional departments that correct nothing! , I don't have an answear for this problem that's a plague in our country and destroying people, but I do know prisions and the system is broken, wharehousing human being ain't working.....

I believe we as a society spend way to much time passing judgement on others as a form of making light of our OWN problems or MISFORTUNES............Anyone who is in the "spotlight" or has been...................sacrifices or has sacrificed a bit of thier own humanity in order to gain fame or wealth but ultimately the ACCEPTANCE of thier fans...................if facinates me to think how people(in general) can be like a hoard of LEMMINGS and follow suit to beat of the (a farce)"MORAL MAJORITY"

Well, Mike is at it again. He was in prison, ha, he was in a juvenile prison not a REAL prison. I hope he gets what he deserves, he is an idiot. As far as some of the comments on here, I have to say they are hilarious. I mean do you really think that Mike wants help? He has all the money to get it but no he spends it on cocaine. All I can say is Mike invest in soap on a rope. And for #36 come dude do you think that he deserves any special treatment? I mean why? So if he kills someone fighting them then he will get more time. YAYYYYYY
