The Skinny on the Modeling "Agency"

1. Too much is be said about skinny models. Its just these fat geeky reporters who can't bear to see models who fit the bill and try to wipe them out of the business and say its better to be fat when its not. Most model who are thin are naturally thin and putting on weight is a difficult task due to high metabollism. It's not a fault of their, they've been blessed with it.

5. #1 David: I totally agree with you!! High metabolism is a blessing!!!! Most people who think otherwise are likely over-weight!! I don't know of a single person who, if given the choice, would take 200 lbs over 100 lbs!!!!

6. This show is total garbage. I had the misfortune of seeing a preview a few days ago for this pile of trash. When you have people (handlers/agents) telling these thin women and girls that they look like "a fat cow" that's dangerous. Great message VH1 is sending out to their young female viewers. I'm a mother to a 2 year old daughter and I don't support an industry that is harming and even killing another women's child. Before I get some stupid comment on "well you buy clothes don't you they were on the runway at some point" if I could make my own clothes I would but I'm just not that handy with needle and thread. But I can say I don't buy fashion mags nor will I watch this horrible show. Naturally skinny women or women forced to eat very little for their "jobs" just isn't entertainment to me.

7. That show is horrible!! I couldn't even make it throught the first 10 minutes!! One girl agent kept talking about how fat these models were right to their faces. Including the one in the pic above. She told her she needed to lose ten pounds!! I agree some people have a good metabolism and the girls are in the biz but come on!!

8. Here's what I see it as . If you not most of the "so called " fashon desighner's as , how can I say , a bit diffrent in lifestyle ? . To me i see them trying to take a woman and turn her into a young pre-pubesint boy . Real women don't look like that , we all know this , but who has the gut's to say it , well I for one will . And as far a the clothes look better on a skinny model , where does this mindset come from ?, the same industry as aformentioned . They seem like a bunch of freaks , very flamboyant and not connected with reality . I see in the future women having problem's withh heart arithmia , bone density (I.E.) lots of broken bone's as older women do , but in their fourtys . What is the solution / .Ban all of this i'm skinnier than you show's .Show the true cost of this , death's from eating disorder's and charge a few of these desighners and agency's with contubuting with the deaths . will it happen ? . No , i'd like to win the lotto too . Question wich will happen first , gee I don't know , i'll keep you posted LOL . Have a nice day

what are you thinking. watch the news HOW MANY MODELS DIED LAST YEAR OF EATING DISORDER COMPLICATIONS.

THAT IS NOT HIGH METABOLISM.

YES I DO KNOW SOME PEOPLE WITH A HIGH METABOLISM AND SOMETIMES HE REALLY GETS ON MY NERVES, THE FUNNY THING ABOUT HIM IS THE FACT THAT THE GIRLS WHO CATCH HIS EYE ARE LARGER THAN NORMAL, HE TELLS ME HE LIKES A LITTLE MEAT ON THE BONES (MORE LIKE HE LIKES THEM TO BE THE SIZE OF 2 OF HIM).

ANYONE IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY WILL TELL YOU, JUST 10 YEARS AGO THE SIZE EVERY DESIGNER WANTED WAS 4-6, NOW THEY WANT 0-2 (AND THE 2 THEY CONSIDER FAT) THEY WANT GIRLS BEFORE THEY GET BOOBS SO THAT THEIR CLOTHES LOOK GOOD ON THE "HANGER", THEY DONT REALIZE THAT IS THEY KNEW HOW TO REALLY DESIGN CLOTHES THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO USE ANY MODEL ANY SIZE AND THE CLOTHES WOULD STILL LOOK GOOD.

Oh yeah, sure! These girls are naturally skinny when they walk in the agency where they are then told they're FAT!

#10- Your right. The Plus size models don't have an eating disorder becuase they obviously aren't yelled at when they are already skinny enough!
Did you see this show? These girls are skinny skinny skinny enough to model and still screamed at for being FAT!

It makes for dangerous health issues. These young wealthy women who live in the public eye are tormented with image. I agree with the poster that said the fagollas who run the fashion industry are trying to make all the young girls into young boys.

15. high metabollism doesn't account for not eating, throwing up what you eat, or both. women who have a naturally high metabollism don't look like a walking skeleton. i have had several friends with high metab. and let me tell you there is a BIG difference. a size two is in no way fat. hell a size eight ins't fat. God made women different for a reason. A woman who is 6 feet tall shouldn't weigh in at 100lbs.
