Sayonara Zarf!

With her transition from male British rock star to lesbian school marm now complete, daytime TV's favorite transgendered heroine, Zarf/Zoe, made her last pantyhosed prance on "All My Children."

Having educated the good people of Pine Valley on the wonders of gender reassignment, Zarf set out for the European leg of her transformational tour, but not before giving a heartfelt thanks to Erica Kane -- woman to woman.

Zarf, played by Jeffrey Carlson, made television history as the first transgendered lesbian character on a daytime soap. With his updos and Talbots suits behind him, Carlson will now star in The Shakespeare Theater Company's production of "Hamlet" in D.C.

Fly little Zarf, fly!

Meems, how long have YOU been watching AMC? Bianca was off the show for years, living with her father, Travis, in Seattle. This was due to Erica losing custody of her. She came back to PV all grown up, and that's when it was revealed she's gay. I think Eden Riegel has been wonderful as Bianca and will miss her. Jeffrey Carlson was equally brilliant as Zarf/Zoe. It probably wasn't easy for him to take on this storyline. The scenes of Zoe & her mother had me in tears. I wish they both could stick around longer. I'm sure Eden will return in the not too distant future.
That's one thing I love about AMC: they aren't afraid to tackle serious issues, social or medical. And sometimes it can be extremely informative.
All of you who are trashing AMC for having the courage to do this storyline probably watch General Hospital because you think Maurice Benard is the greatest actor in the world. THAT guy needs some serious acting lessons! Who ever talks (long pause) like that??

I could not stand Zarf. His character was all over the place and got on my nerves. When they finally brought out the character of Zoe I loved her. Jeffrey Carlson did an incredible job at showing the struggle he/she was going though while bring humanity and humor to the role. AMC once again took a ground braking subject and did an excellent job at showing the different reactions to it. As for the people who are saying that they watch soaps to get away from real subjects, then they should have stopped watching AMC when Erica had the first abortion.

I will miss both Zoe and Bianca.. I wish both Jeffrey Carlson and Eden Riegel the best in everything they do and hope they bring their characters back soon.

been a daily watcher of amc since its inception. back when ruth martin was married to a service mgr and not joe. if i wanted to watch gays on MY soap, i would be pleased but obviously no one does. the worst storyline in the shows long history, by far...good riidance freak
