TMZ has obtained the following statement from Owen Wilson:
"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."
Andrew Wilson, Owen and Luke's older brother, was spotted by TMZ cameras going into Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles late this morning. Andrew ignored questions about his brother's condition.
According to People, Luke also visited Owen last night.

Money cannot buy happiness user 50 cent. I think it is very sad that he went to this extreme. He is very talented and I hope that people will leave him alone and allow him to get the help he needs in order to get well.

Yesterday it was a drug OD, whispers of "heroin" pranced about... Now we are told it was suicide attempt. Hmmmm. Gossip of his drug use have been out there. I say that the PR people had to make a choice between this and a drug OD. Which would you pick that was not career suicide?

Wow. The insensetive comments on here are really shocking. Do you think suicide and/or depresssion is something restricted only for the poor and suffering? If so, then I suggest you educate yourself. Maybe being rich and famous seems like it would heal any depression but in some cases it only magnifies it. Have some compassion for the guy.

#10 give the guy a break, we don't know what happened or anything about his life. it's not like you can believe everything you read, especially on TMZ. Whatever happened, he is pained right now and needs to recover and hope he can get the help he needs for whatever he is going through right now.

You guys are all cold, ruthless a$$holes. I would waste my time "praying" for you instead but don't think it would help. Suicide is not funny. It's not to be made a joke. Ask someone who has attempted or seen the other side. My brother took his own life and it haunts me to this day. You guys need to grow up, get a life. Oh and it doesn't matter how one attempts to committ suicide...it's still an attempt and something that should be addressed ASAP.
I hope that you find the internal peace that you so desperately seek Owen.

WTF? How does anybody know what goes on in someone else's private life, mind or heart--celebrity or not? So he doesn't have the right to suffer just because you don't think he's worthy? Because, according to you, he has all the money and celebrity status...and THAT should make him happy? Well, I've got news for you, my friend. Look at history and you'll see that celebrity status, fame, and beauty doesn't make people happy. Some of the unhappiest people in history possessed ALL those things, and were the most unhappiest. Just ask Marilyn Monroe. Or Judy Garland. Or Marlon Brando. Or Dorothy Dandridge. Or Anna Nicole Smith. Or anyone of the TONS of famous celebrities who are dealing with drug or alcohol addiction.
He very well may have been crying for help, and this was the only way he could do it. I can't believe people are less sympathetic because he DIDN'Tsucceed. Jesus, you people are cold-hearted.
