Diddy to L.A. Times: Told Ya So!!!

Sean "Diddy" Combs' attorney tried to talk the L.A. Times out of publishing an article last week that said his client had advanced knowledge of an attack on Tupac Shakur. But they did it anyway, and now the story is blowing up in their face -- and Diddy is pissed.
Read the letter
The story ran first on the L.A. Times' web site on March 17, and was then published two days later in the paper. When Diddy's attorney, Howard Weitzman, read the story online, he sent a letter to the Times asking them to "refrain from reprinting [the article] and that the false accusation be immediately be retracted." The paper did nothing.

Diddy's lawyer tells TMZ, "The Times completely ignored my letter, did nothing to correct their defamatory article, and never held the reporter, Chuck Philips, to the Code of Ethics the paper supposedly had set for its writers. We will continue to seek a retraction and to pursue appropriate remedies given the egregious and reckless conduct of Mr. Philips and the L.A. Times."

The authenticity of documents that were a focal point of the story have been brought into question by TheSmokingGun. The Times has said they will launch an internal investigation into the matter.

19. I really don't think Diddy did it.. it could've been anyone! If it's confirmed by the court system that Diddy did actually commit to the crime.. then I'll believe it.. but as of now.. They don't have enough to prove that Diddy killed Tupac..

20. Wacko Texas, white guy believed he was Jesus and listened to Lynard Skynard "Sweet Home Alabama" till everyone's ears bled, the Federal Building bombing by white Christian supremiscist McVeigh who listened to Guns and Roses, and RHOWA. Columbine Highschool Mascacre by white Christian boys listening to white hate music. You get my point, gentlemen, if I may use that term, the Ku Klux Klan is responsible for the murder of millions and yet you feel superior to African American gangs? You are ALL thugs, white, black, yellow, brown, and blue, and the rest of law abiding Americans are sick of ALL of you.

21. Do any of you remember seeign Weitzman walking around with O.J. right after the murders? O.J. returned from his trip; Weitzman APPEARED to be his attorney, as we saw, however, Mr. Weitzman did not end up being part of the "Dream Team". Hmmmm... could it be that O.J. confessed to Weitzman and Weitzman could not defend him? No duh. Weitzman is a force to be reckoned with... I could care less about Diddy, but he DID get the best representation.

24. I beleive Diddy had something to do with it and I pray who ever killed Tupak. That the truth comes out. And I know it will because you can't hide from God he sees all. And I beleive its starting to come out now. I beleive him and Biggie paid someone to kill Tupak. And what goes around come around. It came back and killed Biggie and now when Puffy is at the top
of his game, He is about to loose it all for the role he played in it. And he to will be exposed. Always remember whats done in the dark will com out in the light. And we all can see it a litter better now. God give Tupaks mom the closure she needs in who took her son away from her, And let all guilty parties be exposed in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
This is not an attack on Diddy because I like him but if he is guilty God punish him accordingly. Thank you

25. "Diddy" may not be guilty of this, but be certain he's guilty of something.

26. If your from Los Angeles and were around when Tupac and Biggie were alive you know that this is a true story and that's why Diddy is upset. This is not the first time the Times have reported this story in relation to Tupac's murder. It makes me mad that he plays like he's so innocent!

27. What really bothers me about all of this is 1. Chuck Philips is the same man that wrote the b.s article that Biggie set Pac up in Vegas where Pac was killed and now this!!! 2. Tupac Shakur was shot two different times in two different places & not one serious investigation has taken place! 3. There is some fact to all of this, Tupac was at Quad studios the same time Diddy and Biggie, among others were there. There are a lot of connections to Jacques Agnant (Haitian Jack) and both Pac's assault case & his first shooting that need further exploration! Again whether Diddy knew the "robbery" was going down that night, only a handful of people know, the rest are deceased. 4. If this was Britney Spears or Anna Nicole Smith, or any other bubble gum artist all of this would still be front page news..the NYC shooting, the murder in Las Vegas would be serious news! The government was scared of Pac, the industry was scared of the repercussions that would come if they continued to deal with him, and the outside forces in the industry could not control him so.....the end result happened. All in all it is amazing that after all these years Pac is still screaming, no one will ever silence him. The shooters in both cases and the perpetrators in the assault case know what they did & if the police were a helping hand...KARMA is a B*tch!

29. Hah Hah Hah, another example of the plummeting journalistic standards at the l.a. times. I remember not to long ago when they published a bogus story about tupacs murder which implicated biggie, The la times of 30 years ago would never have run this article. Back then they were one of the best papers in the U.S. No more.

30. Chuck Philips is a joke. No matter how much money Suge Knight pays him, he'll never sell Suge's lies. For all the people screaming about "karma", the hammer is yet to drop on the real kingpin behind all this violence and death. Suge engineered this whole so-called war, allowing and supporting Pac to go out there and talk real reckless about a slew of people, bragging on the airwaves about sleeping with people's wives, getting into shootouts with cops and basically making an enemy of every east coast rapper and law enforcement agent in the country. Lastly, let's not forget the gang affiliations and the nonsense that comes with that. Is there any surprise that there was a line of people willing to pull that trigger???? Or any surprise that his murder is at the absolute bottom of law enforcement priorities? Let's face it, Suge helped Pac make the bed that got him and Biggie killed. Now this piece of trash Chuck Philips comes along with his poorly researched stories attempting to capitalize further off this tragedy. No, karma has not hit yet. Not until the real killers of both Pac and Big are brought to justice (not likely), and both Suge and Chuck are exposed for the sneaky lying pieces of trash they are (Well Suge is broke and Chuck was just exposed and faces a certain multi-million dollar suit from Diddy, so maybe there IS some justice in the world.)
