Tony Robbins Unleashes the Power of Lawsuit

Tony Robbins claims a competing motivational speaker has stolen his schtick, so he's suing the dude.

In the lawsuit, "Banana Hands" Robbins claims the wife of Stephen Pierce -- the other motivational dude -- used a small camera to record almost 50 minutes of a speech Stephen gave at one of Robbins' seminars. Pierce then posted the video on his website, and encouraged his readers to skip Robbins' $8,000 seminar and buy his video instead. Self-help yourself, folks!

The firewalking guru is also claiming that Pierce posted a fraudulent statement on his website claiming that he got permission from Robbins to film the speech and make it available for public sale.

Robbins is suing for all profits Pierce made via the unlawful use of Robbins' likeness. Calls to Pierce's camp were not returned.

31. Anyone that knows Stephen knows he doesn't need to steal his own stuff (after all he's getting sued for using his own presentation) crazy. I bet Tony doesn't even know about this suit. The guy has Tony listed as a friend on myspace lol:

32. No. 25 is full of it. They find any way to make a quick buck without respect for anyone. It must be someone working for them that posted it.

33. i've read the complaint and all the comments above - most of you guys are idiots and don't know sh_t.

the bottom line here is that pierce is wrong, the attorneys will make lots of money, and tony robbins will get all this non-sense stopped. in fact, if you check out pierce's websites, you'll see that all the robbins images and references have already been removed.

p.s. i've been to ALL of tony's seminars and most are very good. i've gone from $60k in debt to very comfortable using many of tony's basic tools - but the wealth mastery sucks. why? first, tony doesn't really speak except via recorded dvds and calling in to chat briefly. more importantly, the seminar attracts idiots looking to get rich quick. therefore, the speakers are brought in to cater to those needs/desires. the other seminars that tony has are actually quite good and can help people grow...if they really are committed to change.

34. "Just do a search on Robbins and look at his history with the SEC"

It wasn't the SEC with which he had his difficulties, but the FTC.

36. THIS JUST IN: Robbins' crackerjack legal team made a bone-headed mistake and the case is to be dropped immediately. (But how will they apologize and make things right?) YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.

37. Tony Robbins is an ass and had it coming. Anyone who takes the potent knowledge of NLP
and teaches Presidents and Politicians how to lie more convincingly to the public, as well as
using it personally to manipulate those around him, deserves to be skewered!!!

39. This is crap. I've always thought that Stephen does sound a lot like Tony Robbins and has been influenced by him, But, I doubt very seriously that Stephen would steal from him outright. The truth is the light.

40. Stephen Pierce is a wonderful human being. He's definitely one of the good guys. I hope he can get this resolved asap.

41. Stephen Pierce is an honourable man and the truth will out! Disturbing that a man can be used for utilising his own content for no profit?!?

42. I know Stephen and his wife personally and what Robbins Research claimed Stephen has done tha violate the regulation is definately not true. I have no idea why they want to do this, jealousy? but Stephen deserves to tell the world the other side of his story. check out http://www.dtalpha.com/talkback/?p=72#respond to listen to what Stephen has got to say.
