McCain's VP

Miss Alaska Loser

8/29/2008 12:28 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Before she was named McCain's Vice Presidential nominee today, no one except for the seven people who live in Alaska ever heard of Gov. Sarah Palin -- or that she came in second place at the 1984 Miss Alaska pageant.

Sarah Palin
Palin did win Miss Wasilla and the coveted Miss Congeniality award. So who cares what her
economic plan is?

V.P. Nominee was once Miss Wasilla, Alaska

#23... Holy sense of entitlement... Do things for yourself! If you wait for government to take care of you, you will get left behind... Quit playing the victim. Your life is what YOU make it.

I live in Alaska and there is a cloud over Governor Palin's head at the moment as she is being investigated for firing someone that would not fire her ex brother in law (he is a state trooper). She moved from Juneau back to Wasilla a few months after she was elected governor. If McCain/Palin win, I assume she would continue to live in Wasilla and not be very "hands on". Also, I feel, to vote for McCain is like voting for Bush again. Bush has driven this country into the ground and McCain will finish that job. I am not affiliated with any party and have always voted for someone I think can do the best for this country...McCain is not it!

John NC---

I was responding to another post. I was not saying that these facts had anything to do with her qualifications. You should read things in context before you respond -- and definitely before you vote. You can call me unintelligent if you think that will do some good.

McCain think women are so stupid, they'll vote for him just because he picked a woman as his VP. Sorry McCain but for that, you needed a Hillary, not any other woman in your phonebook.

When McCain health issues catch up to him, do we truly want this person taking over?

Old Enough

Before deciding you might want to see what Palin stands for. - especially if you were a Hillary fan and are just going to vote for her because she's very conservative. Here's a bit that I found on a DC news stations website. According to this she only has 2 years of experience so the argument that Obama doesn't have experience goes straight out the window. Additionally she's been divorced too so I personally question her family values.

Gov. Sarah Palin: On The Issues
New Alaska Governor Is Strong Conservative

POSTED: 10:40 am EDT August 29, 2008
UPDATED: 11:49 am EDT August 29, 2008

With the selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, Sen. John McCain has extended an olive branch to the far right wing of his party.

The 44-year-old mother of five, who has only been governor for two years, has a conservative track record on both social and fiscal issues.

Below is a list of her stance on several important issues.

Abortion: Palin is outspokenly pro-life.

Marriage: Palin opposes same-sex marriage and stated on her campaign web site that she believes “marriage should only be between a man and a woman.”

Climate: Upon being elected governor of Alaska, she created a sub-cabinet on climate change. However, she has been a vocal critic of scientists who suggest that climate change is leading to the decrease in polar bears in Alaska. She has also threatened to sue to have polar bears not listed as a threatened species.

Immigration: Being that her state only borders Canada and is thousands of miles from the Mexican border, Palin has not often expressed her views publicly on illegal immigration.

Guns: Palin is a lifetime member of the NRA. On her Web site, she wrote that she supports “our Constitutional right to bear arms and am a proponent of gun safety programs for Alaska's youth.”

Economy: She supports reducing property taxes and taxes for small businesses to grow the economy.

Iraq: Palin is generally supportive of America’s presence in Iraq, her 18-year-old son Track Palin is in the Army and is slotted to go to Iraq in September. Palin has also visited members of the Alaska National Guard in Kuwait.

Health Care: According to her campaign Web site, Palin supports flexibility in government regulations that allow competition in health care. She believes it will drive down health care costs and reduce the need for government subsidies. Palin also feels patients should have access to full medical billing information.

No Scandals??? Better read up on her! She seems like an airhead to me.........lotta' fluff and no substance. We'll see if she can stand up with Joe Biden on 10/2. It's gonna' be an interesting election season. I for one will be choosing the RIGHT persons: ~Obama-Biden!~ Anyone who listened and watched Obama's Speech last night and wasn't impressed, inspired and motivated had to be braindead! He really WILL bring CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN!!

I'm confused here. McCain has been shouting for the last few months that Obama doesn't have the years of experience yet he picks someone with the same or less experience than Obama. Plus, who is she? All I have heard is that she hunts and has a kid with down syndrome. SO. Michelle is working class Mom with two kids. This is such a desperate move by McCain to try to appeal to women who voted for Hillary. Like Hilary said, if you voted for me for what I have stood for for over 30 years then you'll vote Obama. This women is no comparison to Hilary. I'm sure some women will vote for her but for what. Because she is a women. This is no better than blacks voting for Obama because he is black. This country is so f'd up right now it's crazy. Vote on a new direction and not the same one.
