Now PETA's Got Beef With....

...the American Cancer Society!?! WTF?!

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, a group with wayyy too much time on their hands, is now going after the American Cancer Society ... for trying to fight cancer -- in humans!

After the ACS went after Michael Jordan for smoking during a softball game earlier this week, the folks at PETA, who obviously couldn't stand to see another organization get attention, released a strongly worded letter of their own -- attacking the people dedicated to helping actual, living Homo sapiens.

Here's the statement: "The ACS needs to get its own act together before it calls a foul on Michael Jordan." See, PETA claims the folks at the ACS are hypocrites because they have fundraisers where they serve "cancer-linked" foods -- and by cancer-linked they mean dead animal, like beef.

Imagine how screwed the Muscular Dystrophy Association's gonna be when PETA finds out Jerry Lewis had a steak once.

31. To HisFavoriteBrunette:
I really did not want to even have to bring the Bible into this, mostly because it totally freaks people out for some reason, but since you absolutely insist...

The Bible says that in Heaven, the wolf will dwell with the lamb (Isaiah 11:6). There are many other scriptures suggesting that animals do, in fact, have souls. So the "last time you checked" must have been some time before the Bible was written. Pick up a Bible with a good concordance, and you might actually learn something. Even if it is something incredibly controversial by today's standards. Unless you can reference something in the Bible that states that animals can never have souls, the fact is that we just do not know. And to anyone who thinks that the Bible is just a fairy tale, don't even concern yourself with this. You have much bigger problems. God Bless!

32. That does it --
Just send all your tobacco related products and pictures of Michael Jordan to PETA. Maybe they'll use them to the full extent, and we'll be done with the whole lot.

33. I think what PETA should be saying is.... Don't eat the products that have been exposed to antibiotics! Dont eat meat that is not grass fed. Its not about not being able to eat the meat that is why God supplied us with beef, chicken and so forth. The cancer causing isn't the meat itself but what the cows are being fed and in turn we put in our bodies. I am thrilled someone does see that meats can lead to cancers amongst other things. But, by no means am I saying stop eating meat just learn more about what is being put into your body as well as your children!!!

34. nothing PETA does suprises me anymore....all they do is take any tragedy that has happened or maybe even something that has not that much to do with anything and uses it for their own gain. in Canada, there was a murder on a greyhound bus and maybe a week after that, PETA tried to put an ad in the paper saying that this horrific murder was the same thing as what happens to cows or any animal

35. Ooooh, PETA's calling the ACS hypocritical? Weren't they on trial recently for cruelty to animals because one of their shelters euthanized dogs and cats inhumanly?

Peta kills animals. Google it.

36. TMZ YOU SEEMED TO HAVE LEFT OUT ONE LITTLE PIECE, HERE, LET ME COMPLETE THE STATMENT FOR YOU:

See, PETA claims the folks at the ACS are hypocrites because they have fundraisers where they serve "cancer-linked" foods -- and by cancer-linked they mean dead animal, like beef" THAT HAS BEEN INJECTED WITH ANTIOBIOTICS, GROWTH HORMONES, AND STEROIDS.

AND you know what else they could have been talking about? Anything with HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP in it which pretty much is everything on the shelves in America - White Bread, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Orange Juice, Cranberry Juice. Basically any commercial food product most likely has high fructose corn syrup. Funny as that additive was banned in the UK. I wonder why? Maybe because they have free health care so the government actually tries to prevent its people from getting sick in the first place. Unlike America where it's mainly privatized.

38. The fine folks at PETA are no smarter than the animals they are trying to protect. You guys at PETA need to just get a real life. Do better and holier than thou folks like PETA are a thorn in the side of normal people.

39. I used to think peta was cool. But they have just gotten to be too much. Now, I just kind-of laugh and go about my business when it comes to them. They are just plain silly!

40. Um well it's true. Cancer is sometimes caused by eating meat or to much of it. Nothing wrong with what they said. Eating hamburgers and steaks all the time isn't good for you.

Posted at 6:34PM on Sep 5th 2008 by Why?

41. It is true... eating meat causes many different types of cancer and disease. It's our choice whether or not we want to eat healthy and eating healthy does not involve a dead animals organ on your plate. For those of you who don't care about the life of another being have a good afterlife burning in hell.

42. Just an FYI folks, red meat does indeed contribute to cancer due to it's high acid content. If you don't believe me, try spreading some cat or dog food on your hand and see how long it takes before it starts burning.

43. Execellent work TMZ, it always makes me feel warm n fuzzy when the media runs stories of peta's BS.

Here is some yummy meat for thought:

From july 98 to dec 2007,the upstanding folks over at peta put almost 20,000 animals to death...roughly 90% of those they took in, or about 5 a day.

MaryBeth Sweetland, peta's VP, is a diabetic who MUST take insulin....while it is synthetic insulin,it's both been tested on animals...and contains small amounts of animal products.

These are just two examples of peta's bs. for more go to petakillsanimals.com

Personally, anyone who would place an animal on a higher pedistal than their fellow humans....doesn't deserve to be treated humanely!

For every animal youdon't eat,I'll eat THREE!!!

44. So Palin hunts deer and cooks up the meat and eats venison stew. I personally could not go out hunting but I have no problem with those who hunt for food. Gosh I think our ancestors did that awhile back ,yes? I believe it also helps keep the deer population down. Nope, not a problem.
