Celebrity Justice
El DeBarge Guilty -- Sent to El Big House

El DeBarge will spend the next two years feeling the rhythm of the night behind bars in connection with a recent drug bust in L.A.

The pop star was just sentenced to two years in state prison -- starting right this second. Authorities are currently taking him to California State Prison in Lancaster where he will immediately begin his sentence.

The judge decided his conduct during the drug bust earlier this month -- in which DeBarge was allegedly found with crack cocaine on his person -- was enough to violate the probation he was on from a drug case in 2007.

18. Seems like a double standard to me. How many starlettes have been busted with drugs while on probation and only spent an hour in jail. The LAPD must be getting special favors from them if you know what I mean.

19. Rediculous....This Guy obviously has a problem with an extremely addictive drug, Did the cops catch a bad guy, NO!! Why don't they go after the drug dealer instead of the victim, as usual these pansy cops and DA's would rather go for the easy bust...and as far as the other comments, if you have never been subjected to this type of addiction, then you have no room to talk about someone, if you new what it was like to be addicted, perhaps you would have more empathy...I am so sick of our judicial system or the lack there of, Thankyou for listening...and Jesus, c'mon McCain for President, could he be any whiter?

21. I can't figure out how some people can get a laugh from anothers misfortune, but anyway.... I hope that El learns something positive from this experience and stays away from drugs whenever he gets out. Every person has something that they are addicted to, some legal some not, lets not judge.

22. For all his problems, El probably still has more talent than any 10 of the top hip hop artists of today, combined. It's a big loss for music. He is on George Clinton's new album, shining on tracks with the funk maestro as well as Santana and Sly Stone. A legend among legends. So many greats have sought him out. He has collaborated with Quincy Jones, Burt Bacharach, Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Maurice White(EWF), Babyface, among others. All will vouch for his talent. His music has been sampled, used, and re-made by suppossed greats Notorious BIG, 2PAC, Ashanti, NeYo, among others. Let's hope this is not the last to be heard from Mr. El.

23. How's that for freedom in our America...

You can't refuse to drink flouride polluted water...(Medication in case youre too dumb to brush your teethz)...even though it don't make sense to injest this stuff...

ps w/flouride it's one size fits all dosing. no variences for total body weight or kidney tolerances amoung the old or newborns.

Yet you don't have the right to choose what substances to alter your psyche with.. Even though we're free Citizens here, i guess.

You will surrender the right to decide or face lengthy prison. Ps. prison is now a for profit corporation in some areas.. scary. think about it.

26. I still listen to his greatest hits CD. It sucks that a person with so much talent has so many demons. I hope he writes some songs in jail and releases a new album. Damn, he was so good.

All this love.

28. didn't lindsey lohan have drugs and she only spent one day in jail? i guess the higher you're on the celebrity food chain the less jail time you do. DUI's 2 or 3 in a 18 month period 86 minutes in jail. way to go criminal justice system!

30. This drug has affected his entire family. There has to be a better way than this. I dont know all the details but I doubt that prison is the answer. Good luck El, hope you get out soon.
