MMA Fighter and Wife Found Shot to Death

12/18/2008 2:15 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned former UFC fighter Justin Levens and his wife were found dead from gunshot wounds in a home in Laguna Niguel, Calif. earlier today.

Sources say cops are investigating their deaths as a possible murder/suicide.

Levens had a career record of 9-8 and fought in several different MMA leagues, including the IFL, WEC and UFC.

In a morbid twist, Levens once lost to Evan Tanner -- the UFC fighter who was found dead in the desert back in September.

I have no idea what caused the murder suicide or who was the killer/suicide guy. But the people who just jumped on the "Steroid" bandwagon are fools. Since 1) They probably assume this because this reminds them of the Chris Benoit double murder suicide. 2) it was already confirmed that Benoit had legal theraputic levels in his system. 3) it's been proven that brain damage from 20 years of rough wrestling is what triggered the mental condition that caused Benoit to kill himself and family.

Nobody here has any information about what happenned in this case so just blindly claiming "Steroids" is just dumb. I wish the family of these two the best during these dark times they are undoubtedly going through.

After all the punches these guy's take to the head. There has to be some degree of brain damage he had. Your brain can't be sending out normal signals and information. If not along with roids, Or maybe he or she were just really pissed off or just mean. Who knows....

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged", Justin was a great kid with a bright future. It's easy for people to sit behind their computer and make assumptions but do you ever really stop to think that you are talking about another human being who was loved and how your words may sting those left behind? What ever happened to people being decent and leaving their condolences? The only people who will ever know the truth are no longer here, You will be missed more than you'll ever know, Justin!

How sad, bloggers can sit here and talk about someone they never even knew...Justin was a great man. It bothers me to think people will judge you and judge your life as they are now. Easy to sit here and let you mind make assumtions about not wanting Justin to rest in peace if that person had the privelige to meet Justin they would have seen that he was a great person. I believed in Justin so much and I am so heartbroken to hear of the tragedy that became the end of his life. Great post by the way to my sister (sadden friend) Justin you will always be remembered by the family, we love you and you will be missed.

Amen to that Terrance. The story just broke. We don't know whether it was roids or not. As for saying that we shouldn't wish "he'd rest in peace", there was a time I would've thought that too. As I've gotten older and have grown up, I've learned to let God make that call.

And, as you said, in the Benoit case, it was proven that Steriods DID NOT play a factor in that one. It doesn't excuse what happened but I wish people would get their facts straight before shooting their mouth off.
