Is Rihanna

A Flawed Covergirl?

3/14/2009 7:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0312_rihanna_covergirl_ex-1Revlon has secretly hired a huge polling company to find out if Rihanna is hurting its competitor, Covergirl.

An online survey is circulating by the folks over at Harris Interactive. The survey -- which we've learned was commissioned by Revlon -- features a Covergirl commercial for mascara. It then questions people if they are aware of the person in the commercial (without saying Rihanna's name), if they've heard about her in the news lately, if they have an opinion about the person and if they feel the person is "an appropriate spokesperson" for the product.

The obvious implication here -- are women pissed off that Rihanna got back with Chris Brown and therefore would be less likely to buy Covergirl products? That's what we're thinking.

We confirmed with Harris Interactive that the poll is a "proprietary study by Revlon" -- translation: no one was supposed to know Revlon was doing recon on its competitor.

We spoke with someone at Revlon who said she'd get back to us. We're still waiting.

speak da truth

Why should CoverGirl drop Rihanna...they don't even have any proof that she's reunited with Chris Brown. Nobody does..other than the fact that she didn't press charges and her lawyer's trying to get her out of testifying. But, even that's not proof. People think Rihanna should denounce Chris, but why would she...she never, not once publicly confirmed their relationship. That relationship could go away int the same silent way that it went on for almost a year under everyone's nose without anyone figuring it out until it's long past.

CoverGirl should hold on to the Bajan Beauty...She's going to be hotter than ever this time next year.

We will not buy any CoverGirl products until Rihanna has been removed from their ads. Not a good role model for women. A woman should never allow any kind of abuse. Run dont walk while you still can.

She's pathetic! Covergirl should pull her ads and not honor her contract.

Robin Fenty - aka Rihanna..

Is NOT setting a good example.

Her handling the situation regarding her ABUSE is not correct.

It/She sets a bad example..sends the wrong message..and is NOT good for her career..

Or the millions of women out there..{who look up to her} that she represents as a CoverGirl spokesperson.

Enlight of her current situation..she should not be representing Revlon or it's subsidiary CoverGirl cosmetics.

Altho I wish her well..and hope she finds justice & healing..{SANITY}

I personally..influenced by all of this..will definitely NOT be buying the CoverGirl brand and encourage all smart..strong

women to do the same.

Just Noticing

Rihanna's voice:

"Like any woman, I enjoy a good beating now and then. But what about those unsightly bruises? Just cover them, with CoverGirl! No problem, at least on the outside... ?"
