Kanye West has just been charged with three criminal misdemeanors -- vandalism, battery, and grand theft -- in connection with the camera-smashing incident at LAX.
The L.A. City Attorney has also charged Don Crowley, Kanye's manager, with the following crimes -- two counts of vandalism, two counts of battery and two counts of grand theft.
TMZ happened to catch the incident on tape. In fact, Kanye broke our camera light as we were shooting. Crowley is charged with breaking both the TMZ camera and the still camera. Kanye is charged with breaking the flash accessory to the still camera.
The incident occurred last September 11. Both men are scheduled to be arraigned on April 14.
Kanye could get up to 2 1/2 years in jail if convicted on all counts. Crowley could get five years.

Yes he should be convicted. But of course celebs never have to pay for their actions so I assume he'll get away with all this.

he should get convicted but im sure he wont....the dumbest part about this was that it was 9/11 the worst day of the year to cause any sort of disturbance. as talented as he is how can you have respect for someone who is so arrogant?

should he be convicted? yes! will he? probably not. even if he is convicted he will only spend half the time in prison if that. the prisons are so overpopulated here in Ca that even violent criminals are only doing half time

Cmon, the guy shouldn't get jail time for this. Yes, you should have to pay for the damage, etc, but jail time? All that does is put a burden on tax payers. Put REAL criminals in jail. I mean, my God, Kanye (among others) have paparazzi in his face 24/7, I can't blame the guy for being fed-up with it.
Nothing will come of this.. Kanye will pay for the damages and all will be right in the world of celebritydom
Now, If this was the average Joe he would probably do a few days in jail and pay for the camera.
He should go to jail, if not for this, for that performance he gave on American Idol a couple weeks ago, it should be a crime for people to have to listen to that crap.
