Now we know why Dr. Conrad Murray administered CPR on Michael Jackson's bed, even though it's routinely performed on a hard surface -- it was a "firm bed."
Murray's lawyer, Edward Chernoff, was on "GMA" this morning defending his client's actions after finding Michael unconscious in his bedroom.

"it was a firm bed."
As we say in Texas, that dog won't hunt.
The first thing anyone learns in a basic CPR class is to put the patient on a firm surface -- preferably the floor. If it's true that Dr. Murray failed to do that, that's gross incompetence.
I hope they post something else about MJ. TMZ's coverage of the whole thing has been pretty weak.
As a certified CPR inst5ructor, I can tell you that this attorney's answer is complete hooey. There is NO excuse for doing CPR on a bed.
not a very good explanation. it was a "firm" bed? seriously? that's what you're going with? and to continue on and say that you put one hand under his back and performed chest compressions with the other? i find this next to impossible to carry out, anatomically speaking, unless this doctor was inspector gadget. with one arm under jackson's back, there is no way he could've had the leverage to use any sort of force to compress the chest.
i think it also speaks volumes that for someone who claims to have committed no crime and has not yet been charged of any crime, felt the need to retain the services of a criminal attorney. the truth will most certainly be revealed in time...
what ever kind of bed it was this doctor sucks ! he better go open a grocery ( but am scared he sells poison to the people )
i really hate this doc !
PRAISE Michael and COMDEMN the doctor - GOD have mercy on us all because this world is full of fools - - - the doctor should track each on of you posting defamation comments and file suits against you all. America is in trouble, big trouble.
Edward Chernoff,
No matter how you try and "spin" this for your client...we ain't buying it....
1ST.. #4 THS DR. DID NOT LEAVE HE WENT IN THE AMBULANCE WITH EMS.. AS HIS DR... AND AS FAR AS THE REST... I BELIEVE HE DID GIVE MICHAEL DEMEROL AND HE WENT INTO FULL BLOWN PANIC THAT HE WOULD & WILL BE BLAMED FOR HIS DEATH... AND HIS NON ! KNOWLEDGE OF CPR AND OVER DOSE TREATMENT . AND MOST ALL HE WAS A SO CALLED CARDIOLOGIST AND NOW A DRUG PUSHER! JUST A THOUGHT...
Those 2 days and his team of lawyers really helped him to get his story straight.
My Nephew is an Intensivist (board certified critical care).... and he is not buying this so called BS.... I think Dr Murray needs to go back to MED SCHOOL. And his lawyer needs lessons in PUBLIC RELATIONS. Cant sell this one!
Where is Dr Murrays Defibrillator that he is required to have! ....... uh hmmm.... in private practice! TMZ needs to send the HOUNDS ON THIS ONE!
I also like how they say none of the phones worked in the house. UM YEAH RIGHT
As a CPR Instructor Trainer for the past 17 years, I have found that a lot of Doctors do not get CPR certified every year or two and some do not take CPR at all. I have been following this story and it just does not dome together for me. Again, the bed situation comes up, a trained person in CPR would have immediately gotten him on the floor. Maybe the doc should present his certification card as when he took CPR the last time. Also, I heard on the news that he now says he put one hand behind MJ back and did the compressions. Lots of unexplained occurances.
