Roethlisberger Accuser -- I Tried to Report It

7/21/2009 7:18 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Ben RoethlisbergerThe woman accusing Ben Roethlisberger of sexual assault claims she tried to tell the head of hotel security about the incident the day after it happened -- but the guy completely blew her off and threatened her job.

In her lawsuit filed last week in Nevada, Andrea McNulty claims Guy Hyder -- the chief of security at Harrah's in Lake Tahoe -- told her she was "over-reacting" and that "most girls would feel lucky to have sex with someone like Ben Roethlisberger."

McNulty also claims Hyder told her that John Koster -- the president of the hotel - will "personally fire you for starting rumors about Roethlisberger's personal life."

McNulty also claims Hyder told her that Koster would be impressed by the sexual encounter, allegedly saying "Koster would love you even more if he knew about this ... Koster would suck his d*ck if Roethlisberger let him."

In the suit, McNulty claims she assumed the incident would be investigated by hotel security, but Hyder "did not do his job of investigating the assault." McNulty also claims she was "afraid of the consequences of going to police authorities since it was obvious to her that Harrah's and it's personnel ... would side with and support Roethlisberger."

McNulty also claims several Harrah's employees broke into her home and ripped files off of her computer, presumably for the purpose of defending themselves against a possible lawsuit.

Several months after the incident -- after McNulty claims she sought psychological treatment because of the encounter -- she claims she had a conversation with Hyder. McNulty says she told Hyder that she had been hospitalized specifically because of the Roethlisberger incident. Hyder allegedly replied, "I figured that was what was wrong, but I thought it was just like a date rape thing."

McNulty claims her bosses told her she was on thin ice at work ... so she preemptively lawyered up.

McNulty is seeking $380,000 in medical fees plus an unspecified amount of punitive damages.

If she is being torn apart here for finally coming forward, it is easy to understand why so many woman do not come forward. and # 30 Therapists are not allowed, by law, to repeat anything told to them during a session. Yes, there have been women who have lied about rape, but far more cases go unreported because the women are revictimized by ignorant people who behave as if the women did something to deserve what happened to them.

With athletes raised in an insular world where they play by different rules from the time they show proficiency in their sport, and have sycophants like those at the hotel falling all over themselves to gain favor with them, it is understandable that she would fear being fired instead of believed.

And without having been through just what she was, no one can say what they would do at that moment. Each person reacts differentky to such trauma.

why would she just tell hotel security if it was rape. If I am raped at work, I might say something to my boss on the way to call the cops but not think about it for 24 hours or more.

This hoe is full of sh1t! If she was really raped why not call the "POLICE!" she went to everyone but the "POLICE!" now instead of trying to achieve criminal justice she's trying to achieve financial justice? Wtf? Not to mention this all occured last year sometime? This is a Scam and I hope if Ben Roethlisberger's lawyer has any brains he would file a counter suit against her for defrimation of character. I don't trust any woman that cries rape, never goes to the police, and waits a year to decide to do something about it... and that something is get a lawyer and sue for financial damages. Not to mention this woman looks horrible and I can't imagine anyone delibrately making a pass at her.

48. Any wonder - You might want to double check that. It IS required by law, even in my marriage classes, they specifically tell you - even before starting that any sexual assaults have to be reported. Before being licensed by their individual states, they must agree to become a mandated reporter.

To the posters commenting that she must be lying b/c she's ugly - 80yr old women and little kids get raped every day. It's not about how attractive someone is - rape is a crime about inflicting violence and power over someone else.

Wait a minute...so...if she was GOOD LOOKING, there might be some truth to the story?
As if that is the criteria for being raped.

TMZ, What is McNulty's job at the hotel? In your rush to get your stories up ASAP, you always leave out very important information. Can't you at least go back and update the story with key info from earlier stories; one sentence telling what her job is and what happened? Thank you.

Her excuses for not reporting it sound very plausible. It's a shame how so many women are not believed when they report sexual assault. Why isn't it believable that she feared losing her job? But she is going to have a tough time proving her case because all the physical evidence is gone, and there are no witnesses. Her word against his. Comes down to who is more believable, but the burden of proof is on her.

there is no question this sad girl is mentally deranged.

I cant even cut her down, she simply has mental issues. So sad.

Wait a minute,that's my house!

I believe this girl...a guy who has a bit of a predator streak, can spot weaker girls. A feistier, ass-kicking personality would not have had the same trouble...She has had no idea how to stand up for herself, (but she's learning) ...going to 'management' and hoping those 2 class-acts would defend her...poor girl. As for the bitches that fabricated the 'soldier in Iraq' story and emails...they were playing the same sick, destructive game that high school bitches use to destroy either the competition, or quiet/shy girls and guys that they target for fun...Sometimes it can drive the target to suicide, as we have seen with some high school kids.. Everything, everything with this story has a ring of truth to it. The law of cause and effect. As for her breakdown, quiet/shy people crack when they are driven to madness through cruelty and injustice...
