The Goldman Boys -- Just Happy to Be Here

1/16/2010 2:17 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The New Jersey Nets are by far the worst team in the NBA, but there were two fans in the crowd last night that didn't care about wins and losses -- David and Sean Goldman.

Sean Goldman, David Goldman

David Goldman (left) was recently reunited with his son Sean (right) after a five-year custody battle with his deceased ex-wife's family in Brazil.

Next time try a Devils game, fellas -- you might see the home team win a game.

aww so glad to see them together! i also followed this story over the past year and a half after seeing a special on it on tv. for all those wondering why they are geting so much attention, you have to realize that this case has been going on for 5 years. david didn't go to the media until all other avenues failed. it was his last resort. the attention he solicited from the media was the only way he knew he could finally get his son back.

in addition, the intricacies of the story were very captivating--he was a model, she was a fashion student, they met in europe, had a whirlwind romance, get married, she kidnaps their son on a "2-week" vaca to brasil, divorces him, marries a high profile brasilian attorney, dies during childbirth of a daughter she was to have with the new hubby. i mean c'mon, how could you not be riveted by that story?

i'm just so glad it all worked out. it took the help of the media and, subsequently, lawmakers to finally bring this case to a close. it took way too long and added numerous gray hairs on david's head (poor thing), but glad it ended the way it did. he seems like such a loving father.

That's awesome! I saw a special on tv about this a year or so ago. It's horrible what they did to David Goldman, kidnapping his child and bringing him into a different country. Then when his ex died he thought he could get his son back, and the new hubby refused.

He has probably spent millions on legal fees, and travel for all the times he was told he could see his son and then denied.

I am very glad that he got his son back.

thrilled that this story has a happy ending even though there will be some bumpy times for Sean adjusting to his life with his Dad again after all he has been through

disgusting that it took so long for him to be finally returned to his father

as a parent can hardly begin to imagine
the agony/frustration/pain/money etc.
that this man had to go through in order to have his son finally returned to him

WISHING THEM NOTHING BUT THE BEST.... FOREVER--THEY DESERVE IT!

I am glad they are reunited now we just need the media to leave them alone. Don't think it was necessary to take pictures of them. This must be a difficult transition for this young boy, I wish the media would leave him and his father alone!

Child abuse no child should be made to sit through a Nets game.

I am so happy to see them together.

What his mother and brazilian father did was CRIMINAL.
I hope David NEVER lets them see Sean unsupervised or until his majority again. They need time to bond and undo all the brainwashing the brazilian family did to that poor child.

His father clearly loves him dearly.

That father deserves the daddy of the year award (and last 5) He is an amazing role model. His love never wavered and his determination brought his son back.
More men and women should emulate him.

I was watching the Nets game with the sound down and was wondering why they were showing these people. They kept cutting to them and actually missed some game time to show them. Why should we care?
