Kerrigan Family: Medical Examiner Is Full of It

2/9/2010 5:12 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Kerrigan FamilyNancy Kerrigan's family is lashing out at the Medical Examiner who ruled Dan Kerrigan's death a homicide ... according to the family's attorney.

The lawyer, Tracy Miner, says "The Kerrigan family is extremely disappointed that the medical examiner would release a cause of death without having all of the relevant facts. We believe this finding to be premature and inaccurate."

The Kerrigans are also standing by Nancy's brother Mark -- who was arrested and charged with assault and battery and could now face more serious charges -- saying, "The Kerrigan family does not blame anyone for the unfortunate death of Dan Kerrigan, who had a pre-existing heart condition."

The M.E. ruled Daniel died from cardiac dysrhythmia after suffering a neck injury during the struggle with his son.

#4 #5 #50 You are all correct. The Brother killed his father. The medical examiner did not make up the findings..The brother attacked the father in a drunken rage. You better belive if a stranger did that, they would want him charged with murder.. If the brother gets out of this, its a matter of time before he actually Kills someone else. This guy is dangerous.

So, the Kerrigan family would have us believe the father would have had a heart attack at that exact moment even if his son was no where near him? That the confrontation had no impact on his health whatsoever? That is the question the family needs to ask themselves. The son's actions caused the father to suffer injuries that resulted in his death; that is the definition of a homicide. This attitude that it was just a matter of time before he died is inexcusable because ultimately that is what they are saying. I understand that the family has just lost a loved one and don't want to lose another but you can only protect the son for so long. He has to face the consequences of his actions. As an addict, this is his rock bottom and maybe it will be enough to get him straightened out.

According to initial reports Nancy's mom (who is legally blind by the way) was already telling the cops that there was no fight that the father just keeled over. Yeah right! How do you keel over if there's damage to the neck area?

Looks like the Kerrigan family were always covering up for their troubled brother until he outright murdered their father. And they are still doing it. Please maybe that's why he's troubled. No one saw fit to get him real help but just put up and coddled him.

So, how many people does this guy have to kill before the family admits he has a problem? He has a long history of domestic violence; his ex-wife has stated that he beat her and choked her (she thought she was going to die) but when she told his father, he just walked away. Ironic, isn't it, that the man who enabled and made excuses for his violent son is now dead at the hands of that son.

Terribly sad! Why would they defend him? It makes no difference whether a person is a relative or not; if they did the crime, they should do the time. I would never, ever, ever defend a relative if they had killed anyone, let alone another family member. They should be livid that their father, husband, loved one, etc. was taken from them in an untimely death! Justice should be served and the Kerrigan's need to have their heads examined!!!
