Ben Roethlisberger Officially Suspended

4/21/2010 2:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Ben Roethlisberger Officially Suspended Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has just  received a SIX game suspension from the NFL for violating the league's Personal-Conduct Policy.

A spokesperson for the NFL announced that Ben has been informed of the decision.

Officials claim the suspension could be reduced to 4 games, if NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sees fit.

Ben will not be paid for the games he will miss -- which means he could lose nearly $3 million if he misses all six.

Along with the suspension, Ben will also have to undergo a comprehensive behavioral evaluation.

In a letter to Roethlisberger, Commish Goodell told Ben, "There is nothing about your conduct in Milledgeville that can remotely be described as admirable, responsible, or consistent with either the values of the league or the expectations of our fans.”

So sick of these athletes acting like they are above everything. The money should go to charities. At least all the woman know what a douche bag he is. His momma must be so proud,(NOT).

This guy may be on his way out of the league. Anybody who keeps doing that, shouldn't be in the league

about damn time...he is such an arrogant bastard. I hope the NFL keeps this up and makes other players follow off season/off the field conduct rules and policy.

He needs to be hit where it really hurts...in groin, uh errr...sorry I meant wallet!

Agreed, Ben deserves the 6 game suspension.

I wonder if the 20 year girl will receive consequences for being pee drunk, stalking an NFL player from bar to bar, then changing her story about the incident because she really doesnt remember what happened? Probably not. Thats how screwed up our legal system is.

Well he is white, durh. I can almost promise you if he was black the media would be dragging this for months and months to come. When Michael vick did the whole dog fighting thing, people still havent moved on. He was suspended for the longest time. When tiger cheated, CHEATED, everyone wanted to kill him. Now, let a white man get accused of sexual assault twice, he gets of with a 6 game suspension.

Finally the corn eater gets reprimanded. Football is all he has, once it is over there will be nothing left for him but nacho cheese flavored doritos.

Uh...Rob...something tells me that you won't ever find yourself alone with Goodall in a college bar at 2:00 in the morning...so good luck with that!

It's funny to me how they put the bloodhounds on Big Ben when he was officially charged with absolutely nothing. The only thing he is guilty of is stupidity. Wish I could say the same for players like Ray Lewis who walk around unscathed be certain "behaviors" or "ACTIONS"....to which I am sure most of you know what I am referring to....

Well at least he dodged jail time. He could have lost his WHOLE PAYCHECK. So he should consider himself lucky. He got away with RAPE and he gets to keep his job. Only SOME in America can get away with this in the justice system. But I think we knew he was going to get off clean when he dodged massive MEDIA COVERAGE of his case. So there aren't too many people who are going to cry fowl.

Stupid. Whether or not what he did was right or wrong, they don't own him when he's not playing football. They want to control everything. Football is not his damn job 365 days a year. Idiots. If he did sexual assault, it is up to the courts to decide his punishment, not a sorry football commissioner on a power trip. One thing has absolutely nothing to do with the other. When you commit a crime, you go to court and/or jail. you don't go to see the NFL commissioner. Roger Goodell is a desk job paper pushing loser! Like David Stern fining everyone who has their own opinion. Their is no such thing as freedom of speech to him.

Funny how they stuck the blood hounds on Big Ben when he was never charged officially any crime ...but yet...players like Ray Lewis walk around unscathed and we all know what I am talking about there...
