Law enforcement sources tells TMZ there are signs Simon Monjack may have died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.
One well-placed source says, "There were a number of pill bottles on the nightstand in the bedroom, and some were empty."
There is, obviously, an eerie similarity to the death of Monjack's wife, Brittany Murphy, just five months ago. In her case an array of prescription drugs were found on the nightstand of the same bedroom where Monjack died. Many of the drugs on Simon's nightstand were the same as the ones found after Brittany died.
One law enforcement source says the two causes of death that seem most plausible at the moment are "natural" and "accidental drug overdose."
Monjack told TMZ recently he had suffered a heart attack during the incident last November when he had a medical emergency aboard an airplane.
Brittany's mother, Sharon Murphy, discovered Monjack's body last night. She is also the one who found her daughter, Brittany, unconscious and on the floor of the bathroom five months earlier.
UPDATE: TMZ has learned Simon was scheduled to have bypass surgery in September.

They need to implement the pharmacy check system they have available to them but never use and quit letting doctors slide when they issue Rx's to aliases, like they have been doing - it's against the law. I know ultimately it's the persons own fault, but these doctors need to stop handing it out like candy.

Why do you think Britney Spears sold that same house? She got out alive but still went nuts. The house is haunted.
It's bizarre but not that unexpected. I'd bet that all 3 of them in that house were all addicted to pills. It's not so crazy that a guy who looked like he was 300 lbs and always sweating would have a heart attack and die, but the pills always play a rule. All the people who died of heart attacks like Danny Ganz, who die early, usually have pain pills or something that aggravates their heart condition or some weakness pertaining to the heart & kills them. Hopefully, the mother will detox before she's next.
Anyone else think it is strange that Sharon Murphy and perscription drugs are the only common factor in this?
Maybe the mom can stay with Lindsay for a while, she has great family skills!
Sharon Murphy was always aware of the prescription abuse by her daughter and Simon.
After her daughter's death she was sure he knew of her decline into death.
His statements and actions revealed this to her.
So what did she do, nothing she let him continue.
No doubt she was aware he was dying and just let him die.
She did not try to revive him or anything She just went back to her room and let him die.
that was her revenge. She can not be held responsible because she did nothing criminal.
Seriously TMZ, the guy has only just died and you feel the need to start theorizing as to how he died. My house has pills in it too, prescribed and guess what, I also keep some empty bottles because I am too bored to throw them out. In case I have a heart attack and die, and my family is devastated, I am sure they would love rumors circulating the web that I committed suicide. How about you just stop this bull**** and wait for the coroners report to come out!
That is crazy, but idk it may be haunted. Considering the people that have lived in it a good few have ben through serious mental problems. Spears got out before it was to late, but for these additional deaths to be taking place. Whats the chance in the same house ya kno?
