Lindsay Lohan -- Mixing Jail with Rehab

7/11/2010 4:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Lindsay Lohan may get special treatment after all when she serves her jail time ... the kind of special treatment people get when they're addicts.

You'll recall Judge Marsha Revel ordered Lindsay to do 90 days in jail, followed by a 90-day inpatient rehab program.  But we found out there's a program in L.A. County for inmates with drug and alcohol problems -- a program that combines jail with rehab.

It's called the Impact Program -- the brainchild of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.  Here's the drill ... according to L.A. County Sheriff's Department Spokesperson Steve Whitmore, the inmates go to jail, where they attend an intense 12-step program for five hours a day, seven days a week.   The program takes approximately 90 days to complete.

Judge Revel has not ordered Lindsay to attend the Impact Program, but if the psychiatrists who are evaluating LiLo believe it's important to integrate jail with rehab, the judge could modify her order.

And there are consequences for Lindsay -- if the judge orders her to the program, she would almost certainly have to serve the full 90 days behind bars to complete her 12-step.

For those worried about her going to jail before rehab, this seems like the perfect solution. She can get started on sobriety while in jail, and learn how to maintain it while in rehab. Sure, it will mean doing the full 90 days, but what's more important? Sobriety or a freedom that will quickly end in death?

It would be better for her to do her rehab in jail that way she has to attend since she's locked up she will find away to get out of rehab for sure. Lot the brat up and make her do her time and rehab. She needs sorting out they need to get her off all those prescribed meds as well

The difference between LL being given these drugs in jail is they will be regulated. Anyone who abuses prescription drugs always takes more than what the prescription is written for. That is why most "doctor shop" ... there just never is enough! The LA County Jail will give LL one at a time or as prescribed. Therefore, it matters not if she is allowed these drugs in the slammer ... she will never get her hands on the actual bottles which we all know she does so freely out here in the "free world." She should actually be detoxed first ... with medical supervison. THEN ... jail or whatever. I am sure all hell will break loose in jail once she can not get the doses she is used to. It happened with Paris Hilton. DETOX ... DETOX.... DETOX... first.

Her father was right... even if most think is a jerk... the guy is trying to save his daugther's life though it seems like it is a day late and a dollar short.

LEARN from this parents who like that "party life" ... your sins comes out in your children and grandchildren. There is always a price to pay. ALWAYS... It might not come instantly .. but it will come eventually.

Barbie---- you are so right!!! She has to want it. PERIOD! No one in this world is going to convince LL to get better. Right now this is between her and GOD... and eventually I know who is going to win. The prayers of the righteous avails much!!! It is a fearful thing to fall into the hand of God. We all reap what we sow then have to answer to the consquences that come .. come... and keep coming. No one is immune to the watchful eyes of God. Prayer .... prayer and more prayer for LL... asking "please God... do whatever it takes to save her" in Jesus name. AMEN!

"Max is the new KOOKY?"

I like max much better! His political rants will have a much more detrimental impact on TMZ's readership then Kooky's annoying BS ever did. I'm all for anything that costs TMZ readership!

And by the way Kooky don't quit being an annoying jerk to TMZ's readers! Come back in full force more annoying then ever, please!!!

That would be better. A full 90 days (hopefully added days) in jail with this Impact Program. She needs to be focused and shut-out from her "friends". I have a feeling that the "inpatient rehab" is nothing but a halfway house and she will not take it seriously.

I agree w/ Barbie.... You have to want to get sober. No rehab out there can change your mind. REHAB DOESN'T WORK. Yeah, you can go to meetings all day long, you can sit around and chant "keep coming back", you can do any of the BS that goes along with rehab, but the bottom line is:
Rehab is a money-making business and nothing else. Why do you suppose they believe in "keep coming back" anyway? They WANT you to keep coming back.... so they can MAKE MORE MONEY, and if you believe anything different, you're kidding yourself.
Rehab is a business.

I am working with marketing of movies and music in a European country. Our target group are young people aged 12 to 25. Our youth wants actors and musicians who maintain a lifestyle like theirs as they feel their culture threatened by large groups with foreign origins. Lohan sells. Cyrus didn't sell until she changed her act on stage.

I find that you in the U.S. could learn a lot from Europe. Denmark did just change their laws based on latest research so youth aged 16 or above can buy alcohol without parental supervision as long as the percentage is below 16.5 which according to research is harmless for teenagers.

Lohan is considered a rolemodel despite the DUI, which in normal cir***stances would have ended her value on the European market because DUI is a rare and serious offense in our culture. But ironically she maintained her value on the market because the court system is staking her.

They are not punishing her for her actions, they are punishing her for her work culture and lifestyle. It is wrong.

You don't finish a 12-step program in 90 might get through the first step if that!

I hope she suffers, not owning up to her crimes and lying, putting other people in harms way. LL is an adult now her addictions are her fault and her problem. She`s nothing but a drug addicted criminal and needs to be off the streets. She had her chance to do it the easy way, but that was everybody else`s fault also. Time to do it the hard way.

The Impact Program sounds like a good idea for Lohan. She may need more rehab after the 90 days, though.

CC - THE ORIGINAL theory, sounds like another attempt to, yet AGAIN, bow down to Princess LiLo...ANYTHING to keep her in control over any situation and enable her to duck responsibility for her actions and the consequences that follow when "we" break the law/rules.
I think the majority of the talking head, media starved lawyers giving their 2 cents worth, (Mark Geragos, etc) don't understand the sentence handed down by the judge was for THREE individual cases. She violated the terms of EACH of them by not meeting the judges original requirements. You play, ya pay!!
And...I have a feeling this "Impact Program" ain't gonna fly with this judge. Seems Revel doesn't like to be told "what she's thinking" (Holley REPEATEDLY pissed her off with this statement)...she expects her directions to be followed.
She SAID LiLo must complete ONE alcohol education class EACH week...she MEANT it!!! BOOM...violation of probation!!
She SAID 90 days in jail (consecutive total for 30 days each case)...90 days of court ordered rehab AFTER LiLo gets out of jail....NOT "during"....this judge MEANS just THAT!!!!

Remember Foxy Brown the hip-hop singer violated probation after several incident and finally, the judge gave her 1 year in jail. Brown served 8 months.

Lohan got off easy, especially after stealing that fur coat two years ago which was captured by several photographers.

Lohan is a drug addict, thief and liar who deserves much more than 90 days (really 23 days) in jail.

She is also a whining baby that has a sense of self-entitlement because of a few movies she starred in 6-7 years ago.

........and those parents.......Lohan is a lost cause.

Yeah sure... the judge has made it pretty easy for her so far... Linlin will come out the victor.
