Lindsay Lohan -- Failed Drug Tests Could Ruin Career

9/18/2010 12:10 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Lindsay Lohan has a long-term career problem in the wake of her two failed drug tests -- the judge in the case could derail her comeback.

Lindsay is now relying on Judge Elden Fox to allow her to leave California to shoot "Inferno" in Louisiana and possibly fly to New York City for "Saturday Night Live."

Here's the problem.  Sources connected with the case have been telling TMZ ... if Lindsay were to fail a drug test the judge would probably pull the plug on out-of-state-travel -- a privilege for Lindsay, not a right.

TMZ broke the story that Lindsay failed two tests ... one for cocaine last week.

The judge has been pretty gracious, allowing Lindsay to visit NYC to see her family last weekend.  But all bets are off now that Lindsay has flunked two tests.

And sources close to Lindsay somehow already know the big wigs on "Inferno" are pissed that she may have screwed up again, so flying to Louisiana may be a moot question.

As for future projects ... good luck getting insurance for a Lindsay Lohan flick.

The judge should put her mother in the jail cell with Lindsay! The mother was no mother to her! How many parents go out with their children drinking, drugging, party all night? Knock, Knock, if any one of us had been busted, throw the key away! Of course, hard to speak to it, when we have revolving door judges and legal system made of money! We don't have a justice system...a money for legal system.

Lindsay for christsakes stick to the legal drugs Nitric oxide pills and the K2 fake weed. There is no need for the drama. Products are made for probationers including Zydot. What are you that out of control? Zydot takes just the morning. Are you just stupid against the law? Wise up Hop Head.

be real

Let's get one thing clear: drug tests do not ruin careers, it's the use of drugs in the first place that does that.

This isn't about her needing help anymore. This is about her finally being punished for her crimes. She's been given too many chances to ignore. It's absurd to hear her fans congratulate her on finally admitting she has a problem. As a recovering alcoholic, it's clear that this is an extremely feable attempt at rehab instead of incarceration. Time to go to jail, daily UA's, she needs her probation extended, and extensive home monitering (after jail)

Who cares. She is responsible for her own action. She did not take any of this seriously. Well time to pay up for her stupidity. Maybe now she will learn. Hope she goes to jail and they throw away the key.

"Knock, Knock, if any one of us had been busted, throw the key away!"

So you think that there are a lot of people serving indefinite sentences for using drugs? There isn't enough jail space.
If you think that people ought to serve indefinite sentences for using drugs, be prepared for higher taxes to pay for more jails.

I love it when "celebrities" admit to a wrong doing AFTER they get caught. Especially when they lie about it prior to disclosure.

I think if you asked your local policeman, you would find that there is not a long line of non-celebrities who are ready to confess to crimes BEFORE they are caught.

She is only 'admitting' to being an addict becuase it is the most likely way to save her career. Let's face it, her early release from rehab basically let the world know that she does not have serious addiction and/or mental illness issues. It confirmed that she is simply a spoiled little snot that does not believe she has to follow the same rules that we all do. With Robert Downey jr., it was painfully clear how terribley addicted he was AND he was never arrogant about it, just pitiful - the public wanted him to triumph. Eventually with Britney Spears, it became clear that she had a severe mental illness and it ceased to be 'entertaining', it was sad - and the public wanted her to overcome. No one, and I mean NO ONE, wants to a see a spoiled little snot rise above.

Clearly it's more important to her to snort cocaine than it is to make a comeback playing Linda Lovelace. . .where she'd get to do a different kind of blow.
