Lindsay Lohan -- Failed Drug Tests Could Ruin Career

9/18/2010 12:10 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Lindsay Lohan has a long-term career problem in the wake of her two failed drug tests -- the judge in the case could derail her comeback.

0917Lindsay_lohan_EX_TMZ_04
Lindsay is now relying on Judge Elden Fox to allow her to leave California to shoot "Inferno" in Louisiana and possibly fly to New York City for "Saturday Night Live."

Here's the problem.  Sources connected with the case have been telling TMZ ... if Lindsay were to fail a drug test the judge would probably pull the plug on out-of-state-travel -- a privilege for Lindsay, not a right.

TMZ broke the story that Lindsay failed two tests ... one for cocaine last week.

The judge has been pretty gracious, allowing Lindsay to visit NYC to see her family last weekend.  But all bets are off now that Lindsay has flunked two tests.

And sources close to Lindsay somehow already know the big wigs on "Inferno" are pissed that she may have screwed up again, so flying to Louisiana may be a moot question.

As for future projects ... good luck getting insurance for a Lindsay Lohan flick.

Really, she simply doesn't know how to (or want to) avoid drugs and alcohol. she goes to parties and clubs, both of which are places where alcohol and drugs are easily obtained. And the friends she hangs around with probably do drugs as well. And we've seen her driving around town too; so there's a good chance she will be under the influence of drugs when driving. And what if she has an accident and kills someone? This all goes to show that she really fooled the people at UCLA. It makes me wonder if the people at UCLA are even competent at all? She needs serious jail time and lockdown rehab for at least 6 months. However, she will probably get 7 days at the most due to the overcrowding and the rehab facility will again say she's fine and let her go in 2 weeks.

I love the "It's okay because it's a disease" defense as she snorts another line.

Part of the problem with celebs and their addictions is that they can afford to do them and go to jail and spend 6 months in rehab and still come out and have the ability to recoup their losses. If it were me...I would have lost my job, my house and never been able to get back what I lost.

No surprise here. The system has failed once again. Reduced jail and rehab time set her up to fail. And why not do drugs, knowing that she will get a slap on the wrist with a little jail time and be released. I'm afraid one of these times, she will be released and try to get that one time 'ultimate high' and overdose, and die. Why doesn't everyone see that, and get this girl confined and away from the people that are destroying her. She obviously is an addict, and I can't understand why the doctors can't see that. She is an pretty good actress, but is she so good that she can fool doctors into an early release from rehab? Too bad there isn't a restraining order against everyone she is use to associating with. She is so not ready to be allowed to roam around freely. Perhaps a conservatorship like Britney Spears has is also the way to go.

To the people who say she's not going to jail because of favorable treatment to celebrities - how do you explain the fact that she's already been in jail?

The judge needs to make an example of this selfish, spoiled
brat that thinks shes above the law, show these hollywood rich
bums that her **** does stink . Also the law should punish the
parents for failing to properly raise their spoiled brats .
To hell with her career, she can`t act anyway, lock her up for
5 years, it would be nice to unclutter the airways a little!!!!!!

You can see by her face that drugs have taken her. A druggie has a hard, mean look, due to the harsh life involved and what drugs do to your body and mind. Her face has lost all softness. At some point, it never comes back. She has become a VHI special without even ever having done anything worthwhile.

"Also the law should punish the parents for failing to properly raise their spoiled brats ."

Really? Well I think the law should punish people who demand excessive punishment for others.

Along with her being sentenced to jail, they should also sentence the staff at UCLA who discharged her prematurely. She sure fooled them.

Ignorant, arrogant, alcholic, drugged, self-absorbed slut. Is that a career? She had a career? With many of the people in the news, all of them fit the above categories.

Can you say Lindsey Sizemore? This is really sad, and pathetic. I'm all for her going to rehab, but she better get some serious jail time for this. I'm not sure how the law works in CA., but for two failed drug tests, they need to do more than 60 days with extended probation. Especially if she's only going to do only a percentage of that time. Can't wait for Dina to get a lawsuit ready for UCLA stating it's their fault for letting her out early, and that she was completely unaware of Lindsay's problem. For Lindsay's sake, I hope her acting career is over. Some sort of normalcy (if that's possible) is the only way she'll get sober. With that being said, that's only if she really wants to be sober. I'm assuming this is just damage control hoping for leniancy from the judge. You can't fall of the wagon if you were never on it.

"Along with her being sentenced to jail, they should also sentence the staff at UCLA who discharged her prematurely. She sure fooled them."

And what do you think the sentence for being fooled ought to be? Do we have enough jail space for all of the wanton criminals who have been fooled by somebody?
