Lindsay -- Work Can Be Hazardous to Her Health

Just some random thoughts on Lohan:#1-She's broke. Her main income is from pap shots she's sets up (recent photos of her with a scram bracelet at "charity" event and on her balcony reading self-help book) and hawking ads on twitter to anyone who will pay her. Prior to this, her main source of money was hosting parties at clubs with Samantha. She hasn't earned a big check from a movie in years. She's got a shopping addiction, drug addiction, mounting legal fees and expensive civil lawsuits to pay and still supports her family. While her financial woes are a direct cause of her addictions, she needs to own it and realise rehab is not the cause of her money problems but the first step in financial recovery. #2-She's a addict. Not only to drugs but to the worst part of celebrity-famewhoring. Notice you don't see other WORKING ACTRESSES acting the diva and seeking out the paps(Keira Knightly for one). She needs rehab not only for her addictions but for this constant need for attention and validation from complete strangers. If she desires to return to acting she needs to be strong in body,mind and soul because every day will a struggle in a profession that requires her to be thin and perfect. Most actresses and models are "misdiagnosed" with ADHD to obtain adderall for weight control only Lohan took it too far by upping her dosage so she could get high as well(snorting and smoking it). In my opinion, her latest failed drug tests were attempts not only to get high but to also lose weight prior to the Chelsea Handler skit. Adding to this stress to be perfect is the entertainment environment itself. As long as you keep you drug usage under the radar(no dui's,showing up late to movie sets) no one will care. It's like sending a recovering alcoholic back to his job as a bartender. She will be going back to a environment that fosters her demons so she has to rediscover an inner strength(we all have one) that will keep her on the path of sobriety. #3-She's PART of a dysfunctional family. Your family is your family-you can't change that fact. What she can change is how she relates to them. New rules and boundaries need to be set within herself as to her new relationship with them.

Rikwes, I've respected things you've said in the past, but today I think you are just flat wrong on all points. I've done rehab and jail and your arguments today are all wrong, maybe because you are on the other side of the pond you just don't understand how it works here in LA. But I can be proof positive that today, you are not correct here. You just can't possibly be familar enough with our system to understand what is happening here.

Yeah i've listened to K-fed sing, and I know he's awful(though I gotta admit I kinda like the song "Lose Control")But the mere fact that he managed to get an album on store shelves is a miracle in itself, so if someone as talentless as K-Fed can get an album released, it's not at all farfetched for Lindsay to be able to get one released as well.

The report just said that Lindsay said rehab was causing financial difficulties. It didn't say she really WAS in financial trouble (well, any more than usual). It was just quoting her, so it's her perception rather than confirmed reality. Note that the report still recommends a lot more rehab time, so the person writing the report wasn't really buying the idea.

I find it hard to believe that she would really be spending less if she were not in rehab... More likely she's saving gobs of money by being at BFC rather than going on spending sprees and encouraging more lawsuits against her. Once the legal leakage stops (her lawyers stop racking up expensive hours), that should help quite a bit. If she could find $30,000 to toss down the black hole of bail bondsman fees because she couldn't be bothered to show up for hearings and stay away from alcohol and other drugs for a short time, she can pay for BFC.

I'm sure she's borrowed plenty of money for far more frivolous reasons. When I was sick for a few months and at zero income, I had to borrow money, too. She can deal with that, just like everyone else.

You're right. I don't live in the USA but I have seen the "circuit " here in Europe ( rehab,jail etc. ) and I can't imagine it being a whole lot different in USA . People are people after all, doesn't matter where you live . Addicts show the same symptoms wherever they are ( stout denial> ****tered self esteem when you admit you're addict> tedious manner in which to rebuild self esteem > hopefully live happily ever after ) and unless Americans were flown in from outer space - I sometimes think so,hehe - they'll act the same way.

I saw a comment from an expert on NBC site today which was spot on: he basically said one of the reasons judge sent her back to rehab was to put the "media circus on the pause button " saying one of the reasons for her constant revolving door behavior was due to the media attention. She both craves that and hates it at same time . Its absence for prolonged period of time might do the trick.

I feel she's been in the spotlight from when she was 12 years old ( her parents wanted that as well) without pause. It could be ,as someone else pointed out , she's addicted to that attention as well . To fix that will be far more difficult than her substance addiction. In her defense though : it's also the media itself ( they smell something bad might happen and haunt whoever that might happen to, folks doing fine are not news ) contributing to that situation.

The only scripts she's receiving are for indie films that pay scale. No big movie producers want her. They've got hundreds like her or better than her to take the minor vacuum. She's washed up, for now, if not, forever. Also, who on earth is buying her clothes? They must not know they're from her clothing line.

Must be nice to be young and rich in LA...skip bail, reoffend to many times to count and get off with 11days in jail and 3 days in rehab

It's a crock that she's even in rehab! Any other average person who isn't a celebrity would be sitting in jail. Just more proof that with money and fame come power. Rich people can get away with murder because they have money. Lock Lindsay up for a while, then maybe she'd learn. But when some dip**** judge sentences her to rehab--again--you know she'll get out early, and then it won't be long before she's standing before the same moron judge and they do the dance again.

Let's hope she's alive long enough to see Jan. 3rd, 2011... with the way things worked out (or didn't) the last few times she's been in rehab, there's no telling if she'll actually get herself together and go down a clear path once she gets out.
