WWE Stars Reunite to Honor Fallen Wrestler Umaga

12/29/2010 5:10 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

It's been one year since former WWE star Umaga shockingly passed away at the age of 36 -- and to honor his memory ... several of the wrestler's former ring-mates and family members got together to celebrate his life earlier this month.

WWE Stars Reunite Umaga
Among the star-studded crew who gathered in Texas -- wrestlers MVP, Shad, Carlito, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas.

We're told the gang shared their favorite stories about their friend -- and even honored Umaga's eating habits with a buffet of his favorite foods.

All of them are livid these pix got posted. They're not mad at TMZ though, they're mad at whoever gave TMZ the pix. At least one of the boys knows who did it, apparently, but I doubt we'll ever know. That person in question may get some "street justice", however.

These were private photos and TMZ posted them. They were honoring their friend and should have never been posted.

What is wrong with you people? SERIOUSLY! Covering a celebration of the life of someone is reason for you guys to BUY these photos. I'll bet NONE of you can name all of his relatives and extended family that became wrestlers, yet you buy these photos of a PRIVATE moment for family and friends! This is BULL!

Hey Honest Chick_83 just an FYI the stars aren't getting unemployment. WWE makes sure of that as they label them as Independent contractors. And since they are independent contractors working under a contract if one or both sides agree to the termination of the contract they don't get paid unemployment. If that were the case stars like Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan etc wouldn't have to wrestle anymore because of how much they would've been given from unemployment. Learn your facts you dumb bitch.

As far as Umaga yeah it's sad that he died and it's even more sad that he had a chance to fix the problems but chose not to. However this tribute was very well earned. Umaga was one of the most caring people around (from what I've heard). I've also heard he was a great person to have around back stage. Which makes a tribute very fitting for him.

I didn't know he died as I haven't kept up with wrestling these last couple of years.I am also a recovering addict and it took me years to finally clean up so I understand how hard addiction is.It really sucks for him and his family that it may have been preventable. Thanks for the memories.
