George Lucas

The Big Tipper

1/1/2011 5:15 AM PST BY Johnny Lopez

It's obvious George Lucas hasn't gone over to the dark side ... because he left one lucky Jedi waiter a Star Wars-size tip.

The 66-year-old producer/director/mogul and his fam recently went to Manhattan's Serendipity 3 restaurant, ordered up burgers, fries, wings, omelettes and some of their famous frozen hot chocolates totaling $185 ... and then dropped a $100 bill for their server.

The force is definitely with him.

Nothing unusual about this. If I was worth BILLIONS like this guy is I would definitely tip $100 to servers. $100 to George Lucas is NOTHING!

" gone over to the dark side ? "

....TMZ...the tone of your story sounds like a sideways racial slur.
You really need to check yourself and correct that !

I've met Lucas several times. He's an arrogant ass. I think he's got a light saber up his butt.

$500 is a nice tip from celebrities in New York, $1,000 tip makes your next visit a Royal occasion.

$100 tip is an insult.

If all you can afford is $100 then next time don't bother, George.

They guy next to you tipped $30 and all he had was drinks with his lady.

"...burgers, fries, wings, omelettes and some frozen hot chocolates...." At least we know where that neck gets its food from now.

In other words meeting George Lucas is a once in a lifetime event that is both incredibly disappointing and insulting.

Dustin Hoffman, rediculously sweety guy. If you ever meet him you won't help but smile the whole time.

It's not his fault because he has no concept of money, he has too much.

George it costs $100 to fill up the gas tank in the car. You tipped the waiter, which she might split with the busboy and bartender, enough money to buy gas for her car. Lucky for her she lives in New York City and can't afford a car anyway, parking is $200 a month, some folks don't bother.

Waiters, the lifeblood of the movie industry. Bruce Willis was a bartender, wonder what he tips?

George $100 is fine if you're having lunch alone, but bring your family thats a grand tip. Heck you should have picked up the tab for everyone there.

I would not want to be known amongst the folks in the service industry as very bad tipper.

I guess for you George it's a trade off, at least it's publicity for the place that you stopped by and graced the world with your presence. Some people will endure anything. I have to wonder don't you question the funny taste in the food you get when you leave lousy tips?

You would know the difference if you ever tipped properly.

CMON NOW... LUCAS IS THE WEALTHIEST INDEPENDENT PRODUCER/FILM MAKER ON THE PLANET ACCORDING TO GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS. DUDE IS WORTH AROUND $3.5 BILLION. $100 IS AN INSULT. I WAS EXPECTING A GRAND OR SOMETHING. CHEAP BASTARD. HIS COMPADRE STEVEN SPIELBERG WOULD HAVE TIPPED MORE.

I'll take this one step further: George guy like should spend a one million on tips every year. Call it charity. Some would call it money well spent. You get what you give, George.

He still didn't tip as good as Johnny Depp tipped his favorite waiter at his favorite Chicago restaurant, right after Public Enemies came out...
