Waka Flocka Surrenders

'He Didn't Wanna Run'

1/3/2011 9:00 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Rapper Waka Flocka turned himself in to authorities today on gun, drug, and gang-related charges -- because according to his mother, "He didn't want to run."

The Henry County Sheriff's Department tells TMZ ... Waka was booked for multiple charges including:

-- Possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce
-- Possession of firearm by convicted felon
-- Possession of hydrocodone
-- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
-- Violation of probation for driving on a suspended license
-- Violating Georgia's "Criminal Street Gang and Terror Prevention Act"

The rapper's mother tells TMZ, Waka surrendered on his own this afternoon "because he wanted to do the right thing and didn't want to run."

As we first reported, cops hit Waka's home on December 16 -- and after confiscating all sorts of illegal items, issued an arrest warrant for Waka ... who wasn't home at the time.

Waka's being held on $31,950 bond -- and a hearing is set for tomorrow.

UPDATE: Waka was released on $31,950 bond Wednesday afternoon.

Don't want to get into a race debate but it's not because of their color, it's their ghetto culture and character that makes these thugs and you hear it in their Rap Lyrics.

" He didn't want to run"! More like he didn't want the police to find and shoot him. 31.950 dollars bond tells me that there will be no jail time with this case.

I agree with many here in saying that this is what hip hop has become ? A guy with a rap sheet and nothing notable to say about society or life. I know bragging is part of the game but grow up. Really grow up you worthless people. Stop creating a society who finds value in numbers and not in substance. Money, cars, babies, etc...great...anyone can have those things and I am sorry you grew up poor and all of sudden some money seems to give you license to be a member of society that is worthless. Money does not equal anything to these people but another way to show off how stupid they really are.

Comment #33 by Fedro:

You can state all the statistics you want(with no quoted sources) but your original comment gave the premise that because this rapper was arrested, his album sales will go up due to the black youth. Comment #30 just pointed out that the majority of albums sales are credit to a white populous. Your statistics(again, no sources) does not change that.

Me personally:

Rock and Rap both have drug issues. Sex, drugs and Rock N Roll is even a popular motto. Rockers use more drugs and Rappers are more likely to sell it. Who's worst the dealer or the users is always a tricky question.

We need to question how these drugs get into our countries. I'm afraid that the biggest drug pusher is our own governments.
