Taco Bell Pulls Ads from 'Skins' -- Too Spicy

1/20/2011 5:45 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Taco Bell wants nothing to do with MTV's risque new teen show "Skins" -- and have pulled their ads from the program after a parental group expressed concern about potential child porn violations.

A rep for TB tells The Hollywood Reporter, "Upon further review, we’ve decided that the show is not a fit for our brand and have moved our advertising to other MTV programming."

As we first reported, the Parents Television Council fired off a letter to the U.S Department of Justice AND the U.S. Senate and House Judiciary Committees -- over concerns the show uses underage actors in graphic sexual situations ... possibly violating anti-child porn laws.

This show really seems like it's in poor taste. I wonder what the hell kind of parents let their 15 year olds participate in something like this. Probably the kind of parents who don't give a damn so by extension, their kids don't give a damn. Pretty sad. I can only hope to bring my kids up to have much more dignity and self respect.

The people on here putting parents down for caring about what theirchildren watch either, 1) don't have kids, or 2) get drunk and/or hgh with their kids. Pretty sad that people find morality laughable.

My 17 year old son watched the premiere and I have to admit, I was a bit suprised, and way proud, of his opinion. He said "and they wonder why young girls have no self respect, they watch this crap"... he and his buddies were laughing at the "dirty girls" and how they wouldn't touch something like that for fear of STD's. He said "Wow, their parents must be proud". No, he is not any different than any other high schooler, he does his thing and gets in his share of trouble although nothing serious, but he has a respect for women... I can tell this by the girls he dates and the way he treats them. I am glad the he has decided on his own, that he will not be watching this. I don't care what anyone has to say about my comment... I can sleep at night knowing I raised a son who will one day be a wonderful husband. And, he treats me with nothing but respect...not bad for a single mom raising a boy on her own after his dad died. His dad treating me amazingly...so regardless of what people believe, parents do have to set the example. I'm just saying...

Good, we need less smut on tv. To all the teens, there's more to life than drugs, alcohol, and sex. Even if all your favorite tv shows are about that.

give me a freakin break

@10- They ARE BEING TAUGHT SAFE SEX. And this whole Memphis thing is a reflection of how lax pop culture is in values, so shows like this have a direct impact on minds in the formative years. And you know what? You say teach them safe sex and stuff, well why can't MTV have a show with morals? You do realize that because of the show "Teen Moms" that it has been DO***ENTED, YES, TEENS ACTUALLY ADMITTED THEY WANT TO GET PREGNANT BECAUSE THEY THINK IT WILL LAND THEM ON T.V.
@steph c- Hey, I have family in the U.K. and Ireland, DON'T PULL THE "THINGS ARE DIFFERENT OVER HERE" CARD. And this show was not toned down for the U.S. The UK version is on Netflix Streaming, anyone can judge for themselves.

@Bert If you are going to point out history, at least do it all the way. Sure the British were kicked out of the U.S. during the Revolutionary war, but you need to remember, that the Puritans, who you and many others here still idolize were kicked out of England first and settled here. While the rest of the world, less theocracy's, move forward in their culture, the U.S. takes steps back and is now embracing theocracy. If it was up to you and some others, like the PTC, we would be back to the days where, on television, the husband and wife would sleep in separate beds! You have an on/off switch on your television, turn it off, or change channels...there are hundreds to choose from!!!

@21.....so good to read. As a parent I am becoming more alarmed at what kids today think is cool. I agree w #24 too....kids are admitting that they are looking to get pregs so they can be reality stars...so sad....it's about time big companies like Taco Bell take a stand against this trash....and I was no angel either in school, but the worst TV i saw was 90210 back in the 90'S.....stuff today is all crap...teaching kids safe sex is only a fraction of the battle. Glorifying Teen Moms only makes it worse....sends mixed signals

This show is STUPID! Seriously, I think MTV wants to dumb down America....come on! enjoy your teenage years, your youth. there is no need to be influenced by these kind of shows. kids will watch it and think, "i should go out and get drunk and have sex" its true because i KNOW i was influenced, somewhat, by what i saw in movies etc...i mean, sure, young people to go out and drink and party, but this show is just trash! SKINS! come on, who really acts that way?

en Todo Momento!!

well as long as the media makes sure to broadcast how early, and that very young teens are already engaging in sex, that will take care of all their problems in the future, or not? isn't that what this is all about??!
