Lindsay Lohan

Suspected in Jewelry Theft

2/2/2011 11:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Lindsay Lohan has just turned a super-expensive piece of jewelry over to cops that landed her in the middle of a police investigation ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... last week the owner of an L.A. store filed a police report, claiming a $2,500 necklace was stolen from her business. We're told the store surveillance video shows Lindsay in the store, wearing the necklace before it disappeared, although it's unclear if the video actually shows Lindsay walking out of the store with the jewelry.

Cops got a warrant to search Lindsay's home, but last night -- before the warrant could be served -- one of Lindsay's associates turned the piece over to the cops.

Mind you, turning in stolen property doesn't make it right, so the owner can continue to press the case... so Lindsay -- who is still on probation -- is not out of the woods.

Besides, Sam, where I live it isn't shoplifting until you WALK out with the unpaid items. If they stop you on the way out, the store is liable because you could argue that you were going to pay for the item and because no actual shoplifting occured. Point in case, Wynona Ryder... they saw her putting the items in her bag, but no shoplifting occurs until she leaves the store.

Why get mad at her...get pissed at our Justice System that continues to be purchased by these wealthy people. Start calling for Judges to be removed from the bench when they distribute unbalanced justice according to the monetary value of the people in their courtroom. This is equal to getting mad at an illegal alien working at a job and not fining the company that hired them. This judge would have thrown the common man in jail and thrown away the key long ago!

This just proves the saying, "sh*t rolls downhill." Lindsay is a true Sullivan (mother's maiden name)

There's no way Lindsay is of sound mind. Here we go again with yet another instance of her screwing up her life doing something utterly lacking in self-control or self-respect and in this case, very illegal. I've said before, do not expect Lindsay to act normally just because she's sober. She was probably sober when she got into it with Dawn Holland and she's being tested and was sober when a piece of jewelry disappears from a store that she is seen on video wearing. Her behavior is irresponsible and if she, her family, her friends, her fans, and even at this point her father (who is just as off as she is) don't come to admit it, and send her to a treatment center, not a drug rehabilitation center but a behavioral treatment center for however long it takes, she's going to end up doing long-term time in prison. And it'll be deserved because she simply can not keep herself out of trouble.

This girl just can't learn values. She's so dishonest, and she even lied to the arresting officers in every case she gets arrested in.Same will go with this case. She'll lie like she always has.The good thing is people don't wana see this puke in movies anymore. The day this family goes away will be the day we can all breath a little easier. For those that twist the truth protecting Lindsay it's so easy to see it's the Lohans here making an arse out of themselves. That's the only this family is capable of anymore is just being retarded.

This chick is worth millions. A little piece of bling like that is like a stick of gum to all you broke-ass consuming-on-credit haters. Have you ever walked out of the store with a cent from the "take a penny, leave a penny" dish? Yeah? Well, same thing.

@Linda
How is this a probation violation ?
She hasn't been charged of convicted or anything and this also applies to the Dawn Holland incident.
If they wanted to violate her for breaking rules in court ordered rehab they would have but the truth is Judge Fox and the D.A are tired of this almost 4 year old DUI case.

I think she does need jail time. She's been given enough chances and always slides by jail time. This is the second or third do***ented theft. She has major problems beyond drug use.

Dina: It's not theft, honey, it's borrowing. Borrowing is good. You're entitled to borrow things. You're a *star*! People are wrong to gang up on you and hate you, you're just misunderstood. It's all Mikey's fault, he probably called the police on you from his hospital room. And honey? Only 3 weeks more and you'll be free of the law! Isn't that great! Then we can celebrate by borrowing some more pretty items while we hit the bong.

Lindsay: Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! (snooooooooooorrrrrrrrttt, gluggedee glug glug snifffffffffffff.)

A misunderstanding?!? LOL, you are seriously deluded, Nicole! Theft is NOT a misunderstanding! That's a statement worthy of a Lohan. I guess that the necklace just happened to show up on Lindsay's neck, huh?

This girl is NOT cured. At best, her addictions have been redirected to theft. Which is not a good addiction. Could end her up in jail, stat.
