Palin Event Canceled Over 'Safety Concerns'

2/6/2011 4:12 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

An event scheduled for May featuring Sarah Palin was canceled the day after it was announced, citing "personal attacks" against Palin and "safety concerns."

The Sharon K Pacheco Foundation announced the cancellation of their 2011 Patriots & Warriors Charity Gala and included a statement on their Facebook page. It reads, "Due to an onslaught of personal attacks against Governor Palin and others associated with her appearance, it is with deep sadness and disappointment that, in the best interest of all, we cancel the event for safety concerns."

The foundation went on to say no direct threats were made against Palin or anyone else involved with the event.

Sarah the dingbat cartoon character half term gov with no qualifications for anything (except cartoon character) apparently had a high speaking fee that the foundation could not afford. It also is apparently a progressive community and they just couldn't sell enough tickets for this wackadoodle woman.

Why are TMZ and other sites posting this falsehood about threats? you notice they aren't posting any specifics on these so called threats? it's because it's a complete lie. people who live in the area are posting elsewhere and saying the foundation could not afford Sarah's high speaking fee.

It is amazing we have such a dumbed down nation that they would choose to make this unqualfied-at-anything halfwit of a woman a multi millionaire. and these ignorants who adore her are all poor uneducated brainwashed fools.

The thing Sarah has in common with her followers are they both lack the ability for critical thinking.

you betcha!

I don't think that it is a law that presidents keep the title even when they leave office. I think its more respectful title or a tradition.
However I do not think that Nixon was called president for a long time after he left office and he resigned instead of being impeached. I do not think he would have left of his own accord.
Palin chose to leave her office to make money so I do not think she deserves the respect of the title anymore. jmo

Cindy Blonde - one more thing - your little idol palin has a special needs child and doesn't appreciate the term 'retard' - you might want work on your vocabulary a bit among other things

Cindy Blonde - seems like you and Palin are at about the same IQ level - and in case it isn't obvious - that wasn't a compliment

Can people stop referring to her as Governor? She quit that job remember? Refer to her as former governor or simply Mrs. Palin but not governor.

What, did someone superimpose some crosshairs on a map of her state or something?

I am not familiar with this organization, but their home page states, “The purpose of this event was two-fold: 1) to honor those who have given great sacrifice to our country, and 2) raise much needed funds to provide for those whom we serve.” Unfortunately they have not only canceled Palin, but canceled the entire event citing safety concerns and other BS. I’m sorry, but they are cowards who do not deserve public support.

The real loser in this are the American troops they claim to want to help. But we all know that radical liberals have no concern about this. They would gladly destroy this country as long as they can remake it in accordance with their own warped vision of what is politically correct.

Great precedent… make enough personal attacks against someone and kill free speech. And as an added bonus, hurt American troops. Just what American liberals want!

Only in America can a utter moron like that get taken seriously. You know what they say, America, you're only as strong as your weakest player.
