This is America, where we can pretty much say what we want. Lord knows plenty of people have suffered and died to give us that freedom. However, there are, and should always be, CONSEQUENCES. I am glad Aflac made him pay with his job. I wonder if he even knew they did 75% of their businss with Japan? As Mother used to say, "better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it." Let this will be a lesson to everyone else who thinks they can say whatever they want -- there are plenty of people who are standing in line for their jobs too!

Gilbert is a stupid, no talent, ignorant SOB. He should be more sensative. I am sure he would be the first to complain about Holocaust Jokes. But abviously a Jew will do or say anything for an extra $$$$$$$$$$. Gilbert I hope you know that you are not funny. You are a total embarassement to the Jewish people and America. Japan please forgive the remarks of this total moron.

As far as keeping it to only your friends. Well, you are who you're friends with. Also says a lot about those two idiots Howard Stern and Joan Rivers who came to this idiot's defense. Totally classless and insensitive.

Glad I won't be seeing/hearing this piece of **** for a while now.

He's a comedian. He was doing his job. The jokes crossed the line and he apologized. He took a risk by 'tweeting' them and it backfired. Either way, it had absolutely no effect on the situation in Japan. He was trying to get some publicity, and I'd say that almost 700 comments about these 'jokes' on a bulls*** magazine's website is a pretty decent job. An even bigger joke is that some people think these comments matter.

P.S. jim is a douch*.

People are *******s, what do you expect. In this country all people care about are themselves and they think it's fun to make fun of other people and be rude, what a wonderful country we live in.

If you think this is bad you should go back and see what some of the left wing talking heads at MSNBC have said about tea party members or our previous president. How about the vicious attacks on Sarah Palin? business as usual after those attacks.
I guess this comedian forgot that you can say terrible things about conservative christians and no one bats an eye.

how can he not put himself in their place and feel pain for their suffering like the rest of us? What a selfish, self centered individual. I would hate to be him when kharma comes calling...

This guy's a jerk. What an annoying obnoxious voice. These celebs think that all they have to do is say "I'm sorry" and everything is alright. I'm glad he got fired.

He should be dropped by helicopter into the middle of the worst area with nothing but the clothes on his back and left there - then see if he thinks it's funny. He can bring the CEO of TMZ with him.

The jokes were obviously in bad taste, but I don't think anyone in Japan gives a ****, considering they are trying to fix their homes and probably don't have twitter right now. TMZ should stop wasting their time with stupid crap and go do something useful like helping people rebuild their homes.
