Sources on team Sheen tell TMZ ... after Charlie brought down the house in Cleveland -- with a standing ovation -- he surprised his crew with a trip to a local 12 screen cinema to watch the classic film starring his dad.

We're told 'Wild Thing' and about 20 of his closest friends had the run of the theater.

Jujubes and tiger blood for everyone!

Charlie is amazing! His ability to turn a bad situation around and his career longevity is unquestionable. I thought for sure after Detroit that he would go crawling back to SoCal. What is it about this guy? He not the funniest, best-looking, most talented, youngest, etc. but his ability to land on his feet!

Hollywood types are governed by money not ethics. It seems like he is going to use this tour as a means of getting the popular opinion on his side so he can get rehired. CBS is between a rock and a hard place. They need the security of a moneymaker regardless of the embarrassment.

I think Charlie will be back on the show next year. He seems to have some serious daddy issues though (probably the root of all these problems) watching Apocalypse Now with a bunch of his flunkie yes-men seems sort of depressing. I wonder if any of those around him even voice their own opinions, knowing all too well he is a moody gravy train.

More power to him though. If he lasts and turns this tour into a success, his detractors will be have their ass handed to them.

Somebody needs to interject some reality here about Charlie's actual "Detroit" experience. Do you know where he stayed? He stayed n the Townsend which is a luxury hotel in Birmingham, MI. That's the hotel where visiting "artists" often stay. Take a look if you care to:

http://www.townsendhotel.com/

When he wasn't residing in "The Townsend Hotel....a gem of European elegance, tucked away amidst the pleasing parks, sophisticated designer shops and nationally acclaimed art galleries of Birmingham." he was at the Fox Theatre:

"Detroit’s crown jewel, the Fox Theatre, has played host to some of the biggest names in show business and holds its ground as one of the top-grossing theaters of its size in the nation."

http://www.olympiaentertainment.com/default.asp?olympia=30&objId=1

Take a look at the Fox, if you dare. Its as luxurious as the Townsend.

While I agree that "Detroit proper" can be quite a contrast to the Detroit suburbs - which suburbs are known as some of the most beautiful in the US - I DON"T agree with the hype aka propaganda that Charlie had a gritty, low class sort of experience here in Detroit.

Btw, it is generally the excepted tradition here to refer to the entire Metro Detroit area as "Detroit". You'll see that in many places, like the Townsend Hotel website. Don't fully understand why and people that I have asked here also wonder why sometimes - but there it is. And, it is more than simply a style or a tradition, there is a pride involved as well.

Last but not least, look at the photo of the Detroit audience in Charlie's Tweet. That's a predominately white, middle class, middle aged suburbanite audience. And, it just pisses me off that when they have some beer to drink - and many of them had nothing to drink - they are dissed as a drunken crowd. Look at the videos of them leaving the show and see if they are drunk and rowdy looking to you. Then, the audience at Cleveland is drinking Warlock ****tails with hard liquor and smoking pot - and they are WINNING. Yeah, right.....

Anyway, that's my final 2 cents on the subject. May well be my last visit here, too. We'll see. Frankly, I am getting awfully bored and more than a little disgusted.

Oh, well - this is a "surprise" - NOT!

Charlie is obsessed - some say fixated on - this 1979 movie. Some venture the opinion that this fixation - which has its emotional roots in his father's heart attack while filming this movie - is the real/original cause for his arrested development.

Sheen has claimed that he has a TV in his house that plays the movie on a continuous loop. "I have what I call the Apocalypse Now channel," he said on the debut of his Ustream show, Sheen's Korner. "People might think it's a DVD — [it's not]! It's just streaming Apocalypse Now all day long."

Moreover, while Charlie was only 11 during the filming, he was allowed to run the dangerous streets of Manilla.

“What were they thinking?” Estevez asked his parents after he got older. “We had four of you,” Estevez recalled them saying. “If we had to lose one, we would. We were just trying to survive.”

And, evidently his father also was drinking heavily during the filming and had violent outbursts.

“I hated him when he got drunk, because he’d get violent, “Estevez said of father Sheen, who was inebriated on set.

Charlie is a hypocrite. He forces his godesses to live clean, sober saintly lives but when he was their age he was anything but saintly. Charlie is forcing these women to sacrifice their youth in order to appease his ego.

They can't smoke, they can't drink, they can't dance and they can't indulge in any sexaul activity. These girls are 20 years old and are in prime party condition yet he forces them to stay with him. He doesn't let them dance, drink, party or have fun. He is a mean old man bent on abuse.

When he was 20 years old he was partying like a rock star but now all he does act like saint. It's hypocritical. Charlie Sheen always rebeled against those that told him to behave and now he's forcing those 2 very young women to behave.

Charlie Sheen is the moral police not letting his godesses go out and party.

FYI drinking prune juice, lifting 5 pound weights and napping is not partying like a rock star. You can fool some people but you're not fooling me.

You have some good point here, and you may be absolutely right about the final outcome. Only time will tell. Meanwhile, I'm having a thought that Charlie is doing his "who wants to see me back on 2 & 1/2 Men" whoring routine right now because he is not doing so well in arbitration.

Consider this - Charlie really didn't expect to get fired when he did. He truly believes that he IS the show. He is trying to spin his Warlock magic and make everyone forget that Charlie Harper is a character created by Chuck Lorre. So, if anyone owns anyone here its Chuck owning CH.

What if there is a viable replacement - or alternate story line - waiting in the wings? Might also explain why WB fired Charlie at the time that they did. WB had an air tight contract and surely had their legal team go over it carefully before firing him. WB probably also saw the crash & burn coming long enough to have a Plan B, don't you think?

Oh, and btw CBS is in the very strong position right now of having several strong programs to choose between - more programs than air time - an embarrassment of riches so to speak. One of Charlie's complaints has been that Lorre is paying much more attention to his newer shows and neglecting 2 & 1/2 Men.

Yeah, and if it were me I'd be getting frickin' sick of holding his hand watching "Apocalypse Now" running over and over ad nauseum.

The people that buy tickets to see Charlie Sheen sit in a chair and talk are the same type of people that will go see Justin Beiber sit in a chair and talk forty years from now. Sheen was a child star just like Bieber is and just like Lindsay Lohan is. It's the same fanbase mentality "You can do no wrong", the irony is that Sheen has completely altered his life to satisfy his fans. He's a slave to his fans.

This is pathetic. Charlie's fixation with Apocalypse Now is becoming very creepy. I feel like I'm watching a horrible 2011 version of "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?"... only Charlie wasn't even IN Apocalypse Now -- it was Martin Sheen's film. Next step: Charlie starts to wear the same clothes that Capt Willard (Martin Sheen) did in the movie.
