Sheen in Connecticut -- Can't Get Worse, Right?

4/10/2011 10:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheen took the stage in Connecticut Saturday night with nowhere to go but up after last night's NYC disaster. Check out our live recap below.

0322_charlie_sheen_tmz_bn_2
8:02 PM ET -- As usual, Charlie takes the stage and plays to the audience via sports. He mentions UCONN's recent championship and the crowd goes wild.

8:10 PM ET
-- After getting booed the night before for telling people he wasn't doing drugs anymore, tonight he is encouraging the crowd to smoke pot. Go with what you know, right?

8:13 PM ET -- Someone just threw a "Two and a Half Men" shirt on stage. Do you think that person had the shirt handy or went out and bought one special just to throw at Charlie?

8:16 PM ET -- As for the crowd tonight, it's pretty packed and thus far the crowd has been pretty pumped and there has been no booing to speak of. Fingers crossed.

8:19 PM ET -- Charlie is saying that he got fired from "Men" for "having too much fun." We think Warner Bros. might see things differently.

8:22 PM ET -- Charlie has repeated his go-to move of throwing his shirt in the crowd.

8:26 PM ET -- In another repeat move, Charlie is now talking smack about Radio City Music Hall. A carpenter doesn't blame his tools.

8:37 PM ET -- A fan just asked -- um, how do we put this delicately? -- how many times he ... "finishes" in a day. He said at least once a day.

8:47 PM ET -- Charlie just called this show the best one so far. Not saying much.

8:53 PM ET -- Surreal moment just went down. A guy got kicked out by security, but Sheen had him brought back in. He then had the guy on stage and he played a song with his harmonica and the crowd loved it.

9:00 PM ET
-- Show's over. By all accounts, things went much better tonight than they did in NYC. The crowd was chanting "F**K NYC" as they left, but they could have just been bitter Red Sox fans. Good night!

These updates are lame. We know he changes his shirt a million times, why not tell us something that he hasn't done before. It doesn't even say who was playing the harmonica. I've seen much better twitter updates. Don't even bother.

Aretha is disgusting

What exactly were these idiots in the audience expecting when they rushed to get tickets? Tap dancing? A rock concert? Stand-up? Sheen is a TV & movie actor, not a stage performer.

real deal

Wow. A whole hour for Old Man River. Could he spare it? Sitting in that raggedy chair sure is exhausting. He's in good shape my ass.

Isn't tonight's afterglow party with some of the kids from Jersey Shore? I wonder if he'll show up.

Tomorrow he's going to try to get the crowd to say "F*** Connecticut." He thinks he's playing divide and conquer.

Well, let's hope, for his sake, that they're all too blasted to remember that he dissed them in CT, and that he even has TIME to get them to return the favor. It could be ugly otherwise, that's for sure.

You know, I'm not really sure that Charlie truly understands how information is disseminated in today's world. In his Cleveland pre-show interview (that I posted) he said something about this "new thing called the internet" and not being able to keep anything secret.

Yet, I don't think he gives people enough credit for being able to get the news about his show in CT - not in any real detail that is - in time to create problems for him in NYC in 24 hours. It may not be that he underestimates the technology as much as how "common people" use it. He made some remarks at the Detroit show that would be consistent with that attitude.

And, once again, TMZ cries because they don't get the total disaster they hoped so hard for.

Good grief... after reading that over and thinking about it, I believe you may be right. If so, that is the MOST pathetic thing I've learned about the man to date. I'm older than he is and I've been using the 'net on a daily basis since it became readily available. Wow.

"Yeah, and consider the other related aspect of the story - he paid her $75,000 to STAY with him (for four months). Then SHE dumped HIM. Seems like that's the story of his life - and contrary to his claims (ha ha) to pay for women/sex partners to LEAVE - its seems more that he pays for them to STAY. Even being paid at that rate - plus the "status" of being with a Hollywood Celeb - staying with Charlie is simply not worth it for most people it seems."

I read what you wrote about his pre-nups also. I actually fell a little sorry for him now. But he doesn't care about anyone else. Why should I? Then again, Dahmer didn't like his companions trying to leave either.

One hour on the harmonica and a few "F*ck NY"'s?

More than you imagined? Hell, he already stole their money, he is going to perform the obligatory drive by and give them a preliminary FU.

My son has been using a form of that phrase for the past eight years. To my knowledge, he's never had any contact with Charlie Sheen, but he HAS read Hunter S. Thompson, from whom Sheen paraphrased (stole) it.
