Charlie Sheen

Persona Non Grata at 'Men'

4/13/2011 2:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

There are reports out today that Charlie Sheen might come back to "Two and a Half Men."  TMZ sources directly connected to the production of the show insist ... Charlie will NEVER be invited back.

Two and a Half Men
One report suggests CBS honcho Les Moonves has been putting pressure on Warner Bros. to take Charlie back.  "Absolutely false," say our sources.  Moonves has not even weighed in.

Charlie has been almost pleading for his job back, even making the pitch during his show.  And behind the scenes Charlie's people have been making calls, but Warner Bros. has closed the book on Charlie.

As for the future of "Two and a Half Men", no decisions have been made on what to do with the show.  Warner Bros. has until May 18, when CBS announces its fall lineup.

Stay tuned  ...

What a complete ASS, I 'm hoping they hold that syndication money for as long as possible...

Actually, if I understand the legalese - as long as possible may be forever. At least that seems to be WB's position going into arbitration.

I just looked up a list of shows CBS has in works for Pilots, they have a TON of them...that's not including WB. They won't have a problem replacing 2 1/2 Men with something new...even if they want to leave Monday an all comedy night. It's my guess though that they may move Big Bang Theory back to Monday...they may not but it wouldn't surprise me.

Yes, it was in the termination letter posted here at TMZ. Should be in the archive. I don't think they used the term syndication - been a while since I read it I guess I should refresh my memory. They may have said residuals.

You bet. The phrase that I have seen re CBS programming is "an embarrassment of riches". CBS is actually - as they have stated - in a good position to weather this situation. Moreover, TV critics monitoring both US & international ratings have been discussing - even before the Sheen brouhaha started in earnest - that several CBS shows are graying and ought to be up for replacement - with spinoffs or whatever. "Men" is on that list. Anyway, we won't have long to wait to find out - the schedule will be out - what - May 13? or maybe it was May 18. Not long anyway.

That's the link to the PDF file that contains the full 21 pages of the letter.

The way I read the letter, and the terms of the "Agreement," WB is will within their rights to withhold ANYTHING from Charlie pending arbitration. Under the Agreement, signed by Charlie and his representatives, he had specific legal duties that he had to perform and he abrogated almost every single one of them.

By the way, I find it extremely interesting that the last 10 or 11 pages of this file contain links to everything that Charlie said or did that violated his written contract with WB. It is QUITE clear, from this letter, that Charlie screwed himself royally, especially with regards to Lorre, who is described as one of only "three people whose failure to render services can reduce the number of guaranteed episodes."

This means that, in signing the Agreement, Charlie recognized that Lorre was essential to the show's production - yet publicly reamed the man six ways from Sunday anyway.

Under the Agreement, Charlie had an obligation to work WITH the show's producers, as well as contribute to the creative environment by working with other "key" personnel. His rants in the media effectively killed that, and WB is well within their rights to terminate him.

Lesson here? Charlie better learn to fully read and comprehend what he's signing before he goes off on rampages like he did earlier this year. The final nail in Charlie's coffin was the radio interview he did in which, among other bizarre things, he referred to the executives connected to the Show as "fools and trolls."

The very same day, he gave an interview where he attacked Lorre personally, which effectively obliterated any chance of Charlie "performing his essential duties" under the Agreement that Charlie signed.

Friends, this letter shows a man that has shot himself in the balls as far as ever returning to a cooperative working relationship with anyone connected to that show. Wow.

Oops, just noticed that the censorship program messed up the link to the file. Here's a link to the article, in which you can find a clickable link to the same doc ument.

Yeah, Honey - now you know why my mantra has been all along - "read the termination letter". That's almost all we need to know about the Charlie Sheen story.
