Serena Williams

Game, Set, Rapper?!

4/25/2011 1:50 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Tennis superstar Serena Williams doubles as a fashion designer, spokeswoman, and part owner of the Miami Dolphins -- but now TMZ has learned she's adding RAPPER to her resumé.

We're told Serena hit the studio last week to lay down a few tracks ... and is working with a record label owned by Minnesota Vikings star Bryant McKinnie.

During the session, we're told Serena did some work with renowned hip-hip producer DJ Clue ... and she wasn't half-bad.

Is there anything she isn't good at?

And these days, when she does play a Doubles match, she doesn't need a partner because she is the size of 2 women's players.

"Wasn't half-bad". Translation "She used auto tune."

Seriously, I'm all for people pursuing their dreams but I don't get why all these athletes want to be rappers. Shaq, Kobe, Iverson, and now Serena? Stay in your lane. Just as Jay-Z has no business trying to dunk on LeBron, throw a 50-yard pass to Andre Johnson or serve a match point to Rafael Nadal,these athletes need to stay in their lanes as well. It's an insult to real rappers. Shaq-Fu, Da Return???? Come on man....

@Chaz. Thanks for the attempted psychology lesson. The same folks spew the hate-filled crap (yes, I said hate again, deal with it) in virtually every post. It has nothing to do with this post specifically. They have hate for themselves and try to make themselves feel better by anonymously putting down others. It has nothing to do with my trying to act better than anyone else. The hate ruins what could be a fun site.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++
So what the hell does that have to do with anything. I did not say she couldn't play tennis. I was simply making a comment about how the steroids she has taken during her lifetime are making her look more like a lineman than a tennis player.

Are you suggesting that the actual match would be fun to watch or the act of me challenging her?

Why don't you learn to actually read and interpret English before using the language.
