Where is Alec Baldwin in the contest? I'm tired of his actions toward his young daughter being swept under the rug. Is it a political issue? He's democrat so he's forgiven. If you ask me the biggest pig is Baldwin, since it was his young daughter, followed by Arnold and then Mel.

Do not think it is a comparison at all.

A 'secret' child against the background of an elected official makes me irritable about the intelligence of California taxpayers. Who paid for the housekeeper? How in heaven's name were child support payments hidden in various accounts? If the Governor is so wealthy, why is not paying appropriate child support -- or is that 'hidden' in his household expenses? The supposed public father got the $$$$?

Yuuuuck.

Didn't Mel Gibson also cheat on his wife? Didn't he also have a kid with one of his mistresses? It doesn't really matter, he's a loser either way. He should practice eating his beaver.

Both are a sad state of the human existence in today's world.

However, I believe Arnold's actions to be the worst. He knew from the beginning that he was hurting his wife, Maria and their children. Then after he found out about the child with his concubine, he kept hiding the secret. That not only hurt his current family but also hurt the concubine and their child by denying that child a father and a family. His actions were pure dishonest, hateful, and self-serving. That eats away at the very moral fiber upon which our society was built.

Mel on the other hand has been drunk during his anti-semitic rants. While that is really no excuse and people say alcohol just makes people show their 'true self.' Even our legal system looks at intoxication as a lighter crime in most cases than if the person was not intoxicated. For example someone DUI/DWI hits someone and kills them will usually get less of a sentence than if someone is not DUI/DWI and hits and kills someone.

And finally, the ultimate weigh in on this argument is our constitution. While Mel's rants were hateful, anti-semitic and just flat out wrong. They were just his opinions. While I as a fan was certainly put off by his remarks, he as an American has the ability to think, feel, and say what he wants (no matter how distasteful or Politically incorrect it was.) Even those Westboro Baptist Church idiots have proven that in the supreme court. So Mel may be an idiot, but he has the constitutional right to be an idiot. Who did he hurt? No one really but himself.

Arnold, on the other hand, committed adultery, which in most states is grounds for divorce. It some states it is still considered illegal and the police can lock someone up for that action (though rarely done in Today's world of promiscuity.) But regardless of that, he knowingly set out that he was hurting his wife, his relationship, and his family. Eventually he let down this other woman and her child too. His actions were totally selfish and were not in a drunken rage. Arnold is not guaranteed by our Constitution the ability to abandon his children and screw other women and make illegitimate babies.

Even though I highly disagree with Mel Gibson and have lost much respect for him, I have to respect that that is his own opinion and his own ignorance. Arnold on the other hand threw away his love for his family for a 'quickie' while Maria was away from home. Abandoning your wife and kids for a tryst is based on choices, lack of real commitment and pure abandonment of his family. To me that makes Arnold's actions much more despicable.

I only wished this news had come out before he was elected as Governor of California as he had no business running a state when he can't even manage his own life.

Considering the financial wreck California is in right now, seems the Ahhnold wasn't all that great at running a state either.

errrr.. MelGibson fathered an illegitimate child also. He never married Oksana Grigorieva and he was still married to Robyn at the time.. in fact I think the divorce isn't finalized yet.

My theory has always been - those who come down hardest on another public figure for their foibles are guilty of the same or worse than the person they publicly ridicule. Here's what Arnold had to say about Gibson when Oxtortionist sold the tapes to ROL and Gibson was in the toilet:

Mel Gibson is not getting slack anywhere! Even the Governor of California is laying into him. Arnold Schwarzenegger threw a few jabs at Hollywood actor Gibson early Wednesday, even comparing him to the Gulf of Mexico oil leak, the Associated Press reports.

While speaking with a group of utility commissioners in Sacramento, Schwarzenegger noted that while BP seems to have contained its well, "no one has figured out how to contain Mel Gibson." Not bad, Mr. Governor.

Schwarzenegger even addressed Gibson's expletive-filled phone calls that have been monopolizing headlines each day, asking the participants to turn off their cell phones "because we are expecting a call from him."

Speaking of not "containing" things - I hear a whole lot of woman are about to come forward with stories of Arnie and there are rumors of yet another child he fathered.

TMZ - why don't you call Maria and her kids and ask them what's worse? Impregnating a housekeeper living under your roof, risking the spread of STDs to your wife and humiliating your children or yelling at the Ukrainian freak that's extorting you and holding your baby hostage.

Gibson and Arnie aren't even in the same category, IMO. Arnie is far, far worse.

Laura -
You're absolutely correct.

There's a slight difference though. The Gibsons had been separated in different households for two years before Grigorieva entered the picture. When Lucia came along, Mr. Mel accepted the responsibility and acknowledged his child to the world.

The ex-Governor did his thing in the family home and when he found out, kept it a secret. He denied his child. He's just lucky his baby momma Patty wasn't like Grigorieva.

Hiya :)

I guess Mr. Harvey didn't want to believe the first poll.
Either that or somebody didn't like the idea of standing ovation.

Well, some interesting theories -- apparently Ahnold owned part of AMI (NE and Star) and could 'influence' stories.

@Curious - Harvey finds the poll results hard to believe because he lives by a different set rules. Only wives or husbands with children can understand the horrible impact of Arnie's actions, the betrayal and the breakup of a family and marriage.

The standing ovation is surely a sore spot with some. In fact, I expect another "breaking" story on Gibson in the very near future because they guy is being targeted.

@MAC - WOW. Gibson on his worst day doesn't come close to Arnie after reading that Daily Beast article. Thanks for posting it.

One attempt already made with misleading title of this article -

http://www.etonline.com/news/110864_WATCH_Mel_Gibson_Booed_in_Cannes/

Until you read why -
--Upon arriving via limousine with an unlit cigarette in his mouth, Gibson initially encounters a vocal crowd of onlookers and photographers who shout at him to stop for pictures and autographs. When he doesn't comply and keeps walking, the crowd boos loudly.--

On the other hand, chris provided this bit of great news back on the "topless" thread -

Read the review, too, you'll love it.
