Just because you don't know who someone is doesn't mean they aren't a somebody. He's a platinum-selling rapper who has been in the industry for a while. If you don't listen to rap then you most likely wouldn't know who he is; however, he is a celebrity and that is why TMZ covered this story.

He was on Jay-Z's record label and is now on Diddy's record label. I'm not a country music fan but I'm aware of the biggest names in that genre. Rick Ross is one of the biggest names in Rap, not to mention popular culture. Stop being so closed-minded.
